I am leaving five stars because most people look only at the great comments Taking a closer look at everything there is to know about this product might sound like a good idea The first thing I want to say is the cameras are amazing My order of 4 items from here was followed by 3 more orders directly from Reolink's store on eBay In addition to good picture quality, they're very easy to set up with the barcode instructions if you follow them In addition, they're up and running in about 45 seconds All of them will be returned to me Furthermore, I recommend that all prospective buyers strongly consider shopping around for other security camera products In the event of a problem with their product, Reolink is simply INEPT This camera was one of four I purchased a few weeks ago They are expensive, costing $150 each with the solar panel During the assembly of one, one of them had a small rubber flap that covered the on/off switch I took it off and pulled it carefully An angle of about a paper clip thick protrudes from the flap and into the camera's body A very thin piece of rubber holding the flap to the camera broke when I pulled on it I am not superhuman, and I didn't pull it hard I just tripped over it and although I can still place the flap into the camera, I need to fix it because, if it ever fell off, the entire camera will be damaged It didn't seem like a big deal to me That was not what I meant The situation was explained to the company in a letter A couple of days ago, the cover of my car tore and I needed a replacement If there are any costs involved, I would be glad to cover them Nothing to worry about My reply was that they asked me to send them a picture of the camera I made it clear that the camera otherwise worked fine I just needed the little cover They requested that I send them a picture I must admit I was annoyed As a result, I wrote to them that I was surprised that they wanted a picture of this since the camera was working My only need was for a small cover, and I could probably get one on ebay for a few cents For me, it did not seem like a big deal In response, they wrote I understand that the technicians will refer it to them now that we know the camera is working I like it On the next day (and keep in mind that they are always a day behind schedule), I get an email asking me to send them a copy of the invoice I send it at no charge It took me no more than a minute to do that I will call you the next day Twilight Zone here we come to let me know that they will ship out the new cover, I got an e-mail asking me to provide the link to the Ebay listing for the cover I found so that they can let me know if it will fit What? How could that be? Then they came around to helping me make a third-party enclosure (which didn't exist) fit their camera? From making an inexpensive cover, they helped me make a third-party enclosure that did? I thought this was a bit nuts My response was actually a simple statement saying that I didn't find a cover on eBay The latest response arrived this morning - another 24 hours after the original In exchange for a 5 dollar refund, they want to give me my money back If a company sold a 150 dollar camera with a rubber cover for the on/off switch, one would expect that they would realize that the cover they developed for their camera to protect it from rain, snow, and so forth served a real purpose I did not reply to their email seeking explanations as to what they wanted to accomplish by returning five bucks? What is the recommended way of protecting the five dollar bill from wear and tear? The only thing I need now is a new tiny cover! I have had enough of this silliness after a week It is not cheap to buy one of these cameras Before you buy from these folks, put plenty of thought into the warranty and support that they provide and consider whether you should have gone with Google or Netgear The latter would have replaced the part in a matter of 2 days had a similar incident occurred with one of their products There are no better cameras than those made by Reolink However, they lack the ability to provide the kind of support that would make people comfortable with their products My confidence in this company has been eroded These are all the cameras I own It will cost a thousand dollars Because of the inability to send a tiny rubber cover they purchased for a few cents, they are returning the package The situation is tragic
Just today, I got my new camera The last few hours have been spent fiddling around with it connected the solar panel with the charger and it still got a little juice even on a cloudy day The picture is in 1080 resolution, which is clean I appreciate how responsive the functionality is, as well as how clear and strong the night vision is The built-in microphone also works perfectly fine, and I can listen to it in crystal clear sound So far, I have been very pleased with this camera This phone appears to have a fairly long battery life Only about 10% of the battery is lost over night and stays at 100% throughout the day The installation process was very simple and impressive In the near future, I expect to add more We have no problems with motion detection I had trouble getting the app to ignore traffic and sense people at first, but after fiddling with the settings, I got it to work I highly recommend it
