In Kasa's website, hidden away in the plan (Kasa Care) descriptions, a footnote reveals that Kasa Spot is not eligible for free services. This implies you have to pay at least $4 USD monthly, per camera, for clip viewing and storage. Although it took me some time to find, Kasa's website stated that their free plan (Kasa Care) does not include Kasa Spot, suggesting you will have to pay at least $4 USD per camera per month for video viewing and storage. Although it was rather uncomfortable to dig through a support article, I did find that the Spot has a "less than a day" free plan for cloud storage. One reviewer claimed this was for 3 hours. If you aren't constantly looking at your phone, then this defeats the purpose of a cloud service and confirms that this is the worst free cloud service I have encountered This is a disappointing descent from the indoor camera available from TP-Link, which offered one of the best. But, if you do not need to make use of the cloud/alert service, and just want a live camera for manual monitoring, this is fine. Although, I think you can find cheaper options. Although troubling as TP-Link refused to address this in any official product summary I could find here, or elsewhere, or on their own website. Instead they made vague statements and made people think (as even these forums have been to) that the free services associated with other products are it. So, while other Kasa indoor cameras are around $80 USD with generous free services, in a year you will have to pay $50 USD for the Spot, then $40-$48 more (they have yearly subscription options) for meaningful use of the device. One year for nearly $100 is an incredible deal.
There are a few. You will need to decide based on your needs. Reviewers for geekLingo reported the following (tough to locate these details on the Kasa site). It's the same field of vision, the same resolution, the same motion detection, the same push notifications. I believe there are several. Your needs will dictate the type of car you need. According to a review by GeekLingo, the following are the features of Kasa (not readily available on their website).... Everything is the same: the field of vision, the resolution, the motion detection, and the push notifications. Though the build quality is not quite as good as the KC120, it is also wall-mountable. On the Spot, you are not able to connect via PoE. Only a wireless connection is available. Although not everyone prefers POE, it is usually favored by most. Possibly Spot's most important advantage is that it has 3 different zoom levels (2x @ 360p, 6x @ 720p, 8x @ 1080p) - KC120 does not. In Spot 2, there is only one channel. There is now a 5GHz version of the KC120. Due to this, Spot has only one speed of 150Mbps connectivity, compared to four for KC120 (11, 54, 150, and 433). A Spot can see 20 feet in the dark, while a KC120 can see 25 feet in the dark.

Selected User Reviews For Kasa Indoor Smart Home Camera by TP-Link, 1080p HD Security Camera wireless 2.4GHz with Night Vision, Motion Detection for Baby Monitor, Cloud & SD Card Storage, Works with Alexa & Google Home (EC60)
This is a very good product The camera in the mouse (KC120) is one of the larger Kasa cameras and it works very well The video is clear, the audio is good, and there is two-way communication My smart home is controlled by Google Home so it is syncing perfectly with this device In the event that the Kasa Spot cams sounded good to me and Kasa sent me a 20% off coupon, I immediately ordered Due to the coupon, they were $40 each, so I picked up two and placed them in our daughter's room and in her nursery for our upcoming child Since I haven't used the bigger model, which has a price tag of about $80 at the time of this review, I haven't noticed a difference in quality and performance have now located 3 Kasa cams and numerous Kasa smart plugs throughout the house and haven't run into any issues to integrate them into our Google Home applications, which we are now using on a daily basis The problem is, I wish I had picked up an additional four or five!
The videos are not a part of a subscription, but I have set up an alert so you can view them as they come out When you subscribe for free, the videos will be kept for a limited time There are crisp and clear images, as well as good sound quality During my first week of use of the camera, the only negative I noticed was that at times it was sensitive to changes in lamp light The clip shows the alarm going off every few minutes for several hours on one mostly cloudy day when we left our blinds open During the clip, all I can see is our window becoming brighter and darker as the sun changes In the interest of full disclosure, personally I don't prioritize this because of the cost of the camera and how well it performs otherwise Only one day in about eight days have we noticed it, and we also left the blinds open on that day, so the difference in lighting was more dramatic than usual It was a great value for the money! I was very pleased with the overall results
My wife and I have motion detection cameras outside and I wanted to add an indoor one, but I didn't want to pay $179 for the same system, so I figured I would try this As I already own their smart plugs and love them, I was hoping for the same quality here Recently, we had to keep an eye on our dog when we were away from home due to surgery With the picture quality being so good, as shown in the image, I'm so happy with the camera, the night vision and the ability to speak and listen are wonderful Taking a look at the second picture, the scene looks fantastic in the evening light It is more than likely that I will purchase more of these in the future!
Amazing camera!! I love it so much! It keeps an eye on our car all day and all night since it sits on a window sill I turned off the night vision to avoid a glare on the glass, even though it's awesome I am just amazed by how well it works with everything lit up outside at night I have never seen something so good!!! A second one is definitely on the way!
