For Foscam, this is a new kind of camera. It has been about 10 years since I started using Foscam cameras. It is true that I have never run into any problems. If you are ordering the camera and mounting base, don't forget to order some extension cables as well. The camera is very easy to setup, and I installed a 64GB SD card, which automatically records any movement. Due to Foscam's improved security and the fact they no longer use DDNS with it, Blue Iris no longer works on this camera. I think you will like this camera if you try it out. Recordings are sent to a local FTP server and only I have access to them. In order to use the Foscam app, I must create an account. In my experience, other Foscam cameras work well with Blue Iris, so I do not expect this to happen. A second negative is that it was tricky to create user accounts, as it seems to have character requirements I kept failing. After a few attempts, I finally managed to set up a functional account. After fiddling with a few settings in Blue Iris -- Blue Iris started but failed to function when using the rtsp prefix, for example, and I had to disconnect the camera from the network in order for Blue Iris to even work -- It's the first time I've seen something like that.
