Questions & Answers

How much resistance does it have to finger prints?

Even if fingerprints did, it isn't very realistic to think they would be able to read your passcode. Even if you repeated some numbers, there would be so many possibilities unless you did 1111 or 1234 or something stupid like that. If you used 40044004 and an aspiring burglar saw that you only touched the 4 and the 0, it would mean there are 256 possible combinations yet assuming you did use all 8 digits, which is not the case in this situation. For a 7 digit code, using two numbers would yield 128 possible combinations, and this is true even down to a 4 digit code, which would leave 16 combinations, assuming you only used two numbers in your 4 digit code, just like in the example above. The quick version is that you should use four different characters when you create a short 4 digit passcode (i.e. The only way to guess the passcode is to use numbers and 1s (example 8642) or if you used a long 8 digit code you could simply use 2 or 3 numbers (example Statistically, it isn't as easy as you might think to figure out a passcode, even if you know which numerals are used, unless you use an obviously stupid one (like 4321, 1234, 4444).

Can I use this with a security system from Arlo?

It does not seem to be the case. Locks within this type of system cannot be accessed via the Internet or Similar locks are available at Yale that can be connected to the internet.

The software keeps a record of the person who used the code when they opened the door. ?

I installed it without any problems. Sadly, it seems that the locking motor is undersized, and it is unable to handle even slight misalignments between the bolt and Generally speaking, your bolt and receptacle move in your house due to rain and temperature changes. As the wood moves, It is a fact that we could not get the lock to work from day one. Check for a lock with a keypad and deadbolt that is manually operated -- We are talking about Schlage here. The wimpy motor in the Yale has little power compared to the grip of your wrist. Since getting this lock over a year ago, it has not given me any Returned the Yale to the university.

I had a defective Yale Assure Lock Touchscreen Keypad in Satin Nickel (YRD226NR619) 1 month after the warranty ended

With the Assure Lock Touchscreen Keypad (YRD226NR619), you can easily unlock your home or office. I bought it in March of last year, and I returned it in April of this year. A month after a warranty expired, the keypad was damaged (or something was wrong with the I found no signs of death when I returned home, just DOA. A flashing dead battery and flickering keypad are both present. It took two months for the batteries to fully charge. 3 times the batteries were replaced, 3 times the factory reset was performed. It is still having issues with the keypad, keeps saying it is low on battery, and the panel keeps flickering. I was fortunate enough to find a model with a key, so I was able to enter the If the keyless model had this same problem, you would be out of luck. It's okay to be a little unsure about buying this ZWAVE lock
5/5

I have installed and used a lot of smart locks, but this is the best. My experience includes installing and operating Lockset and Schlage locks, and this one did not disappoint. I loved how instantly paired it, how it worked, and how long the battery lasted. It is a great set up. I have them linked to a Vera home controller and it works great. Unless something is fouled up with the door alignment or you have to press the door by hand to compensate for a trim seal around the frame, things will only get funky, which is not even Yale's fault. As long as that issue is dealt with, it is pretty, quiet, easy to use and program, and looks fantastic. Since the bolts are tapered, you may be able to make up for a little misalignment, but if you can, make sure the action is smooth. It will be worth it in the end. In my opinion, these locks are worth every penny and I have four of them in my house. A few TIPS The term ‘

1’ denotes an amount in percent If you are planning to go completely keyless, you should ensure you have a convenient entrance into your house. In the event that these locks fail in the future, the only way to open them would be from the inside. If you have several of these that are easily accessible, the likelihood of all of them failing at the same time is pretty slim, but be prepared, in the event that it does The following is a brief summary of the 2nd paragraph. If you hand these locks after installing them, you should make sure that they are working. In this step, the lock determines if your door is right or left handed (turn the bolt in the right direction or left). As I found out the hard way, it is a pain in the butt to rehandle these locks. It is actually very hard to find this information out in the instructions, so just go through them step-by-step You won't have any trouble if you follow the steps.

That's what it is
3/5

That's fine. I have been using this lock for most of the past year, and I'm happy with it, but it didn't do as well as I thought it would. You need to first buy a connected lock that costs a little extra. The thing is little more than a dumb toy without that. It opens as soon as you punch the numbers in. Definitely on the cutting edge of all there is to Furthermore, if you linger in the doorway or pass your hand near the lock while you close the door, the deadbolt will open, and when you close it, your door frame will slam into the inside of the wall. As a result of the dozens of times this has occurred, my frame is permanently dented. The metal plate I have to get will protect that metal spot on the frame, but I do hope the lock is not damaged. In the end, the keypad can be a little finicky if you are not very careful about how you input the numbers. This lock, however, does lock securely, and it does not require a key to operate. As a result, I have given it.

There was a feature that I missed in the quality lock
4/5

was looking for a good electronic lock to replace a manual Kwikset deadbolt. I looked at several brands of basic and smart electronic locks, and settled on this Yale for its construction, quality, features, and overall positive This deadbolt replaced the old Kwikset deadbolt easily by itself, and the striker plate did not even need to be replaced. This Yale deadbolt extends into the bolt hole a bit further, so I had to make the bolt hole deeper. This is nothing to be concerned about. By following sparse instructions and a YouTube video, I installed and setup the software with no issues. I was hoping that the lock would have the ability to set a one-time password during review and research of other locks. Maybe I didn't do research on this lock enough, I now wonder how the lock works An expiration date will be set after the time pass code is used. It seems to be for locks with slightly "smarter" functionality. It is possible to set a code and then remove it after its use, but that is not quite as foolproof and a bit less secure as the set code. If I add a smart module, I would probably get this functionality, but I would also get a lot more features than I need, and this is why I wanted a more basic lock to start Additionally, I don't really care if the keypad on the door locks when I touch the keys. Would it be better if there were a dedicated lock key? One nit, but it is way too easy for people to lock themselves. Other than that, we will adjust to it and it will be a good lock for us. Also, Yale did a good job with Almost all of the cardboard is recyclable. Only a couple of plastic bags were used There are no blister packs or shrink wraps.

I found the installation to be very easy

With longer PINs (harder to brute force), and it's easy to install and program, this is one of the best products we've ever purchased.
