A DLSR cage would be fine with this, but it's too big

Generally speaking, it is fine, but too large for the cage of a DSLR camera. To attach DLSR cages to the camera, I would have preferred it to have even more small holes and screws, or a smaller profile. If you read this, please make a version that is small and in the smallest font The bracket has a shape similar to TILTA so that you can mount the V-shape DLSR batteries need to be locked beneath the camera.

The battery fits loosely, but it is a good buy overall

Although it is of good quality, when the battery is connected, it can be loose and noisy. It had to be modified with felt on the outside where the metal met the battery, so it would fit snugly. The Juicebox v-100 is what I use with it Put the battery in place. Other than that, it is made almost entirely of metal, has a lot of mounting options, and works perfectly.
