A rotation of any kind is not possible. The tripod column, or whatever else you connect to it, can, however, rotate so that you can use it that way as well. That's not how it's meant to be used.
Selected User Reviews For FLM LB-15 Leveling Base with 15 Degree Movement in Any Direction
The item reverted to its previous position when it could not hold its position. In fairness, the uneven weight distribution in the telescope could have played a role, but the overall weight was well within specifications.
Solidly constructed, this levelling base is one of a kind. The internet led me to this after I had set my eye on two large competitors. The chance I took on it was well worth I don't doubt it will hold 66 lbs, as it is rated for it. I could not shift it as hard as I tried when it was locked. Smooth motion occurs when the lock is unlocked. There is a smooth finish and a refined appearance. Using your tripod at this height will ensure that your image will be at or just above ground level for low level shots. It is only a negative that this base requires you to purchase an additional bubble head accessory for $23 to attach to it. Even so, you will not spend as much as you would on the other two major brands -- about $200 to $ 300. The FLM brand may not be well known in the United States, but I have grown to trust it with my travel gear that's very heavy and expensive. You can also find the CB 58 FTR ballhead and the Berlin 58 in their other products. A sturdy tripod made of three parts.
