Questions & Answers

Is this frame compatible with pictures taken on an iPhone? Is it going to automatically change the orientation?

We've put JPG photos from our iPhones on it. Before downloading to the frame, you must rotate it to the proper orientation.

This frame appears to be narrow and long. Is it possible to view standard-sized photos? Is it also possible to put it on its side?

The NIxPlay Seed is, in fact, long and narrow. The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio. The aspect ratio is 9:1. Regardless, it can display photos in their original aspect ratio, and you can fill in the blanks with a variety of options (black borders, various colors derived from the photo, etc.). The frame can be set up vertically or horizontally. I use it for both horizontal and vertical photos, and it works well both ways. On either side, there's a little more empty screen space.

Is this a plug from Europe?

I assume all you'll need is an adapter to convert from US to European voltage. You will not be disappointed; it is a fantastic product, and I have purchased seven of them for family members.

The Nixplay 10" high-definition frame is fantastic
5/5

This product has a lot of positive feedback - Some that have been voted helpful over time but have become obsolete due to product upgrades (this is for the newer Seed high def version). For the litany of complaints that some people have had, there are a slew of improvements and fixes. br>br>I bought this for my mother because so many older people (I'm 60, not old yet) find Facebook difficult. br>br>I ordered it one evening and it arrived the next day! This was pretty impressive considering we live 20 miles from anything (I realize it was delivered via Amazon, but still). br>br>It's easy to get started - Moreover, many items no longer come with comprehensive instruction manuals. The book that comes with the frame is only a quick setup guide, and it would be about 1/2 page long if it weren't for the multiple languages. Really. br>br> Without reading the instructions, it is possible to set it up. You should be able to plug it in, enter your wifi password, set up an online account using the serial number that will appear on the screen during setup, and create an account and a password. I made the mistake of putting my mother's name on the account, so any photos I add to the frame now say "photos added by Donna. " It's not a big deal for me, but keep that in mind if you're setting this up for someone else to use. The name is only visible the first time you look at the photos. br>br>You'll also need to enter the names and email addresses of anyone you want to give permission to upload photos. You can get around this requirement by using a setting that automatically approves everyone who sends an email to the account email as a friend, but I want to be able to limit who has access to send photos to Mom, so this step is helpful. br>br>Here are a few tips I picked up while setting up and using the system. br>br>1) Make sure you don't type in your wifi password incorrectly the first time - I did, and it cost me an extra $5-$10 to do so. I fiddled with it for ten minutes before realizing my folly and conducting an internet search. Simply insert a paperclip into the small round hole to perform a factory reset. Before you begin looking for it, put on a pair of glasses. Here's how to make it right: Hold the paperclip in place until you hear a click, then plug it in again (you may need a third arm for this) and keep it there until it resets. The only issue is that if you follow the instructions to the letter, it will continue to download and reset as long as the clip is in place. Once the firmware download is complete, simply remove the clip. If I mess up the input of my mother's wifi when I set it up for her, I'm hoping there's a workaround. It would be nice if I could set this up for her from where I am, but at the very least, when I mail this to her, it will be preloaded with pictures until I can get some 8-year-old grandchild over there to set up her wifi. 2) You'll need to add friends and family to a "friends" list so they can send you photos via email. They'll get an email telling them they need to download an app or create an account online. This is simply not true. They can begin emailing photos to the email address you create for this (and any other future linked - accounts) once you add their name and email to the list. a maximum of 5) frame/s - xxxxx@mynixplay. com is the address to send the photos to. com - whichever e-mail address you specify "Friends" are not required to download the app or create an account on the website. This is useful information to have if you have family members who are technologically challenged. Basic playlist (file folder) functionality is available. br>br> A total of 1000 photos will be stored on each list. This will suffice for our needs. Most parents/grandparents will probably be fine with this, and I don't think they'll ever need to change their playlists. A setting to limit the size of photos sent to the frame is also available. If you know someone who doesn't know how to resize or isn't aware that they're sending unnecessarily large files, this will come in handy. This cap may be restrictive for people with large photo collections; I expect it to take a while for us (5 kids and 20 grandkids) to reach the limit of 1000 photos, but I can see how it might happen, and I expect it to change in the next year or so. If you want to set up a shared photo account with your friends and family and use that to update the frame, there are now updated syncing capabilities using Google Photos - For me, the answer is N/A. I'd rather not deal with the hassle of setting it up and explaining how to use it to my family. In addition, many of the photos in my personal file aren't suitable for sharing with my mother. In the meantime, it's up and running at our house, and we're having a great time with it. If you're using it in a sleeping area, the motion sensor is fantastic because you can program when it turns on and off. This year, I'm already thinking about giving these to the rest of my family. br>br>It would be fantastic if there was some kind of incentive/discount for multiple purchases, as this would encourage me to use my credit card now rather than wait a year to buy them. (Nixplay is a video game that you can play on your computer. ) Is this something you're reading? )br>br>I REALLY WISH the high-definition screen was available in a wood finish and in a larger size. That'd be fantastic. br>br>Also, I'm just going out on a limb and saying that I adore the combo cord/stand; I prefer a sturdy cord, and if there were a separate antenna, stand, and cord - I'd be all over it. That, on the other hand, would detract from the aesthetics of clean lines. I can get it to stand without difficulty, but I'm not sure what to do about the cord length. Because it is bulky, I believe that this may be an issue for some people. It is, however, both sturdy and adaptable. It's really cool, in my opinion. It makes me think of old (old) electrical cords. br>br>It gets a 5 for toughness, but I haven't dropped it or covered it in spaghetti or anything like that yet. br>br>ht this, paid full price, and I am not a Nixplay employee.

It's a nightmare

Before this, we were using a Kodak Pulse Frame. It's that easy. This worked because I sent the frame address to anyone who wanted to send pictures. I have six siblings who are not tech savvy, and it takes a ridiculous amount of effort to teach them how to do anything. I still haven't found anyone to work for me. The support site is a shambles (Chat isn't working). The email you receive to approve does not direct you to an approval page; instead, it directs you to a page full of advertisements with no instructions. It's not necessary to add a slew of new features just because you can. If you don't want to guess at all the nonsense you'll have to go through to get it to work, this isn't for you.

BUY THIS ITEM AT YOUR OWN RISK! We finally figured out what was wrong with the frame after three months of frustration and multiple calls to Customer Service
3/5

This product has a WiFi range of 20 feet when used with a router. You CANNOT update photos, email photos, or manage albums via the app unless you buy this frame to be placed within 20 feet of the router in that home. As a result, for the majority of home setups, it's pretty useless. I bought this for my elderly grandparents, so moving the frame and relogging into wifi to get picture updates is not an option. DEFEATING THE ENTIRE OBJECTIVE IS EXPENSIVE. AND IT WAS A WASTE.

Don't be fooled by what you see

After receiving a similar frame as a gift, I decided to get this one. I thought this one, with more storage space, would be even better than the previous one. The catch is that you must organize your photos into playlists with a maximum capacity of 1000 images per playlist. Because my 94-year-old grandmother will be unable to switch between playlists, my storage space for this gift has been reduced from 10,000 to 1,000 photos. I believe I was duped and cheated by customer service, and there is nothing I can do about it. So much for a wonderful present.

There are a lot of disappointments in this book, so read the entire review

Your videos are only played for the first 15 seconds. Only pictures, not videos, can be added from Facebook. As a result, you can only upload videos from your phone or computer. I had to save 200 videos on my computer one at a time, convert each one to the correct format by sending them to my email in small groups of four, and then save them to my phone so I could upload them to the frame. I also had to upload them in groups of nine to my frame. After I figured out how to work around the limitations, it took me four days to finish. Only pictures, not videos, are allowed to be saved to your phone by Facebook. That is why I had no choice but to proceed in the manner that I did. It's also widescreen, which is a letdown. The width is 13 inches, but the height is only 6 inches. There is a lot of empty space on the frame, and the photos are much smaller. If you don't mind stretching and distorting them to fit the screen, that is. I had to look up how to upload from Facebook on the internet as well. It's not possible to do it through the app or the frame itself. To access your social media pictures, you must first log into the Nixplay website. The instruction manual or the frame don't say anything about this.
