BEWARE! Signing up for a Nixplay account is required in order to send a photo to the frame. You don't have to use the app, but you will need to create a personal Nixplay account in order to send a photo to the frame via email. That means that in order to send photos to my 100-year-old grandmother, everyone in my extended family (over 100 people) will have to register with the Nixplay system. This information was not available to me until after I had purchased one and attempted to set it up. Is it possible to use a USB or SD card to load photos onto this picture frame?
I purchased the Kool-Aid. Aid. Subscription is required. Based is beneficial to businesses but detrimental to consumers. You have to keep paying for their wi-fi, and you have to keep paying for it, and you have to keep paying models based on science fiction I'll be returning it. Yes, in the end. However, there are a few things to think about: (1) the orientation of the photo or video you took, and (2) how you physically orient the frame. This is the one you should buy! I had previously ordered the Nix's 13" and had been disappointed with the display
It was an LCD monitor similar to those used ten years ago. After a lot of searching and digging, I came across this one and ordered it to compare. Keep in mind that I'm a photographer, so the difference is night and day. So far, it appears to be a fantastic purchase. br>br>For the record, customer service has been fantastic thus far! This book comes highly recommended.

It is not possible to send photos via email as advertised
I was ecstatic to send new pictures to the grandparents every day so they'd have something to look forward to. There was no such luck! The packaging makes it appear as if you can simply email photos to the frame and they will appear—this is not the case. To add the photos to their playlist, the owner of the frame must go through at least four steps on a clumsy app, which is only for the tech savvy, not your average grandmother. Bummer!.

THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO EXTEND THE FIXED 8 GB STORAGE FORCES YOU TO USE THE SUBSCRIPTION PLAN
What could have been the Cadillac of digital photo frames is now ruined by a lack of storage space. It all started innocently enough when I bought this frame based on its excellent customer reviews. It was the priciest photo frame I could find, but don't my loved ones deserve a Cadillac? The wireless router connection was simple to set up, and I was quickly uploading family photos from my phone and computer using the handy smartphone app and software that syncs with this product. br>br>The single deal- Only after a few weeks of use did I notice the breaker, and it was only because I was looking at my Nixplay account on my computer rather than on my smartphone app. I had only uploaded about 200 photos, but I was shocked to discover that I had already used up half of my frame limit! That couldn't possibly be correct, could it? I was worried because I had literally thousands of photos I wanted to share! br>br>Digging into Nixplay's history revealed the terrible truth: THERE IS NO WAY TO EXTEND THE FRAME'S PERSONAL STORAGE TO MORE THAN 8 GB. Worse, I couldn't find this information anywhere in the product listing that I looked. Every other digital photo frame I'd looked at had the ability to expand storage space using SD cards or USB thumb drives, but Nixplay didn't! This is such a common feature that I was surprised to find it missing from every Nixplay product description. I felt as if I had just paid for my new Cadillac only to discover that the gas tank was not included. br>br>And, finally, here's why all of this is happening: You can get a lot of online storage and make multiple albums to swap out on that small 8 GB storage space, but it won't be free. Yes, it appears that the ultimate goal of this entire setup is to force you to sign up for "Nixplay Plus," a paid monthly service that you will be required to maintain for the duration of your frame ownership. br>br>Once you understand the marketing strategy used by this frame, you'll see why it's so expensive. The majority of subscription-based services Based marketing plans will provide you with free or low-cost hardware (for example, a free cell phone when you sign up for a two-year service plan) while profiting from the service you must sign up for. Nixplay has you on both ends of the spectrum, almost forcing you to subscribe to a paid plan while also charging a premium for the hardware up front. This frame has been a favorite of mine for months. Having the option to subscribe to a service plan rather than being forced to do so would have made me more inclined to keep this Nixplay frame. As it stands, I can't give anything more than a one-star rating to a product whose INTENDED functionality forced me to return it. If you want to buy this product, keep in mind that you might never be able to pay for it.

NIXPLAY SHOULD NOT BE PURCHASED! THESE GUYS DO NOT BACK UP THEIR PRODUCTS! br>br>With Nixplay, I had a horrible experience. Three years ago, I bought one of these as a Christmas present for my mother. She lives on the other side of the country, and because she's a little older and less tech-savvy than I am, she's a little more difficult to reach. She was unable to set up the device on her own because she was physically challenged. I took out the Nixplay the next time I went out to see her and tried to do it myself, but the device wouldn't work. I couldn't get past the initial setup screen, and customer service couldn't help me. My next trip to my mother's house was to assist her with packing for her upcoming move. During this trip, I discovered the Nixplay device, which had been forgotten in the hall closet. This time, I stuffed it into my bag and brought it home to figure out. Once again, customer service was of no assistance. I went through the same motions every time I called, attempting unsuccessfully to reset the frame. Last week, I finally took the device out again to give it another go. They eventually escalated the issue to a supervisor after 45 minutes on the phone with customer service. This morning I got an email from them informing me that my warranty had expired, but they were happy to offer me a 30% off coupon for my next Nixplay purchase. What a thoughtful gesture! On Saturday, I'll visit an electronics recycling facility. I'll leave the rest to you to figure out. br>br>DO NOT BUY NIXPLAY! THESE GUYS DO NOT BACK UP THEIR PRODUCTS!.

The Most Wonderful Gift Ever! My sixth digital frame has now been purchased
They are treasured possessions that I have given to each of my children's families. Each family has said that it is a wonderful gift to be able to see those they love on a daily basis and to be reminded of the many wonderful experiences they have had in life. br>The frames are very intuitive, but I wanted to give one as a gift to my 90-year-old father who already had one that was full of pictures, but I also wanted him to be able to control it after the gift was given. I had no idea what I was doing, but Nixplay's tech support was fantastic. Tom guided me through the process, giving me clear instructions and staying with me until I was able to complete it. The quality of service was outstanding. I was not only able to reach them quickly, but Tom also walked me through each step in detail. I would strongly suggest this as a gift for yourself and those you care about. TOM, I appreciate it.
