Then I came across this item and decided to buy it right away. It met almost all of my requirements, but there are a few major flaws that reduce it from a five-star product to a three-star product. Overall, my first event with it went well (I received many compliments), and I plan to use it again. I might consider connecting four of these for a 64x64 set-up, depending on pricing and software. This did not appear to be a viable option at the time of this review. br>br>Let's start with the positives: br>br>* All-in-one solution for your pixel art needsbr>* AT LEAST 4-hour battery life I haven't used it long enough to fully drain the battery, so I can't say how long it lasts. br>* Excellent build quality - It's a little hefty and doesn't feel cheap in the least. br>* The app made it relatively easy to program my own channels, create my own pixel art, and so on. br>* Bright enough to get the attention I wanted at dusk and nightbr>* The Pixel Community is really neat for finding pixel artbr>* Long cable included, has wall mount holes, a "foot" for desk placement, and my model came with suction cups for mounting (very only my opinion): br>br>* I wanted to mount it to a camera tripod (1/4 or 3/8) but the mounts are different sizes, so I got creative and mounted it to a camera pole with a screw I had laying around that just happened to fit, but it's a little shaky. When I asked for the screw size on this page, I was told that "the digital frame does not require screws. " That was not the topic of my inquiry. Once I figure out the correct screw measurements, I'll update this review. br>* In bright daylight, a little washed out/difficult to see - However, this is to be expectedbr>* At this time, there is no API, SDK, or programmatic access; if Divoom opens this up, I'm sure it will sell like hotcakes. br>* The USB C charging port is tucked away in a recessed cavity and difficult to reach. Although I appreciated the long cable that came with it, I needed to use my own cable for "field" use. The good thing about the placement is that the USB C port is well protected from being bent or damaged (a big plus), but you won't be able to use it if your USB C connector is barely wider than the slot itself. The disadvantages: br>br> br>br>* The screen is made of a brittle plastic that is easily scratched. I honestly wish I had done something to protect it because after a couple of days at a festival, bouncing it around in a backpack, and so on, I ended up with a slew of microscratches that are quite visible in certain lighting - Basically, it's inside at an angle (as seen in the photos). It has no effect on the screen's performance, but it is unsightly when viewed up close. br>br>* I attended a music festival in the middle of nowhere with no cell service. I couldn't start the app because I didn't have access to the internet. This is a big problem because I had to find a bar of signal just to get into the app and change some settings/create new pixel art/update my channels. Note: When you're inside the app, the functions that don't require internet access continue to function normally even if you lose signal. Divoom really needs to add an "offline" mode to the app for when you don't have internet access but still need to update your device. 5 Starsbr>br>* Although you can program "channels" (a list of pixel art to rotate through), you can't specify how long it stays on each art; it appears to cycle through one cycle before moving on to the next. If you could set a time delay between rotations, that would be fantastic. When we're on the subject of channels, it'd be great if you could tell it to switch between them automatically - As a result, it rotates through 36 animations by itself. 25 Starsbr>br>* Pixel art animations are occasionally "mixed. " It's difficult to explain, but two different animations will alternately flip back and forth. In some cases, it's a cool effect, but given that it's a bug that can wreak havoc on your animations, I'm deducting another. 25 Stars. br>br>Overall, it's a really cool device that I recommend for your project if you don't need SDK access or offline functionality; it saved me a lot of time building my own device/software and was well worth the money. I'm interested in buying more of their products, but only if they have offline capabilities.
I'm in love with the new Divoom Pixxo- Max. I have a game room and an office, which are both essential for gamers and tech enthusiasts. This device has twice as many pixels (32x32) as its predecessors and opens up a whole new world of possibilities when it comes to displaying fun art. I also have two other devices (ditto and timebox-) that I use to display fun art. evo) as well as the pixxo- Max is noticeably brighter (the brightness can be adjusted in the app). In my video, you can see a few of the animations I've made so far. You will not be disappointed if you purchase it.
I was so taken with my ditoo that I had to get the pixoo max as well! This screen's size is perfect for me! It arrived in excellent condition. It's a lot of fun to make icons with this app! My only gripe at the moment is that mine won't hold a charge and keeps shutting down and refusing to turn back on. Bluetooth pairing is also fraught with difficulties. I learned earlier on the internet that using a fast charging block will kill the battery, so I believe mine is toast. It's possible that I'll have to give it back. It would have been nice if they included a warning on the box, or if they included the correct voltage adapter, which it does not.
DISCLAIMER: The information contained in this website is for informational purposes only. Although I was given this product for free in exchange for an honest review, I will remain objective. br>br>Having previously owned a number of Divoom products, I expected it to be similar to their newer 16x16 displays, albeit four times larger. However, in a few ways, what I received exceeded my expectations. 1. br>br> Car mode/mountbr>One of the intended uses for this is to mount it to the back window of your vehicle using the included pair of suction cups, where it will automatically turn on when the vehicle is started once installed and configured. While I don't find this feature particularly useful, you can use voice commands to display various icons, and I can see why this would be appealing.
2. increased resolutionbr>In comparison to the smaller variants, the 32x32 display allows for much higher resolution, and the art currently available on the app is quite nice, with smooth animations and a display that is easily visible even in bright sunlight. It also included a pre-installed screen protector. the installation I had no trouble connecting the device to the app, and it performed just as well as their other products. br>3. USB- cbr>Like the Ditoo, this device now has USB c charging. This is a significant improvement over the Micro USB used on the timebox series, because it is a more durable connector in addition to being invertible, and supporting faster modes of charging
1. Although not all of the clocks can be customized, the number of clock faces available on this device is far greater than on previous devices. You can also have all of the time, date, temperature, and weather displayed at once, but there is no color customization available on those displays, which would be a simple addition to make but would be a very nice feature to have, as the default colors are very bright and some people may prefer a single color or more subdued colors. The "3d" clock face is the same way; it's set to blue and can't be changed. This isn't a new feature; it's the same for many of the clock faces on previous units; you can change parts of it but not the rest. br>2. When you select animations in the app, it shows them before downloading them, so the first few seconds of the animation will loop awkwardly before it can be downloaded. br>I'm not sure why this happens. This is done through a separate button in the app. It should do it by default, in my opinion, but this isn't a major concern.
3. The customizeable display section of the app, which allows you to choose several animations/art to display in a loop, does not allow you to loop the animations a specific number of times, and the only workaround is to add the animations multiple times, which in turn limits the number of animations you can have. Again, this is something that can easily be fixed in the app. Overall, this is a very nice device for displaying pixel art, and it works well. I believe divoom is on the right track, and I will be even more pleased if they can implement the suggested changes.
I was so taken with it that I decided to purchase it. I was initially underwhelmed. The company contacted me and sent me a new model that is much more functional! Although I still prefer the Ditoo, this newer model Pixoo is superior. I appreciate the company reaching out to me as well.
