The actual usable area is closer to 9" X 12" than the base, which measures 12" X 12". A portion of the space is taken up by the stand's vertical portion. The item being photographed, however, can easily extend over the edge of the base, depending on the lens used. I've taken photos of items that were larger than 12" X 12" - I've simply placed a stiffener beneath it (a piece of appropriately sized cardboard) for flimsier items.
No, not on its own; as previously stated, it would necessitate some sort of iPhone holder with a 1/4"-inch-thickness. 20 mount to mate with the stand's bolt.

I don't have the same setup as you, but I do use the stand with a Canon 6D and an EF 100 2 lens. It's an 8L lens, which is quite large. The setup is satisfactory, and the stand is fairly sturdy. As a result, I believe it will serve you well.

The Cosmo Mini 500 Copy Stand has a straightforward design that gets the job done. I needed a stand for limited/intermittent use at a reasonable price - From time to time, I'll work on small projects. I copy the majority of what I see. Sheets measuring 5 X 11 inches; This is the ideal size for the task at hand. br>It's simple to assemble and disassemble - The product packaging is well thought out for storage between uses, with one bolt through the base (Allen's head wrench included) and a hand tightened bolt on top of the stand; a second hand tightened bolt secures the camera to the stand; and the product packaging is well thought out for storage between uses. br>All of the parts are extremely durable, even rugged; the base is quite heavy, ensuring excellent stability. It is stated in the product description that it can hold up to two cameras. pound 5 - So far, I've only used a Nikon D7500 camera and a Nikkor micro 40mm DX lens, both of which are well under the weight limit. It secures the combination and prevents it from slipping. To protect the camera base from damage, the camera mounting area is well padded. br>A multi-axis level mounted in the camera's flash shoe to ensure the camera is parallel to the base (a camera can rotate on the bolt mounting it to the stand) is one addition I would recommend. br>To illuminate the copy, I use a daylight-rated light on the stand's side. br>While this stand lacks many of the "extras" found on more expensive stands (such as ratcheted height adjustments, detents for copy sizes, and light mountings), it serves its purpose admirably.
I purchased the copy stand in order to try photographing an old photograph of my father when he was a baby. The photo is oval in shape and poses challenges that I hadn't anticipated; having the right lens (or lenses) makes all the difference. The camera's height is difficult to adjust in fine increments, despite the fact that it is not difficult.
This product appears to be overpriced in my opinion. I like how simple the design is, but I couldn't get the center column to be completely stable. It simply had a slight give to it, which caused camera shake. The column was properly installed, but it always wiggled. Although the brand claims to be made in the United States, the instructions contained at least two obvious spelling errors that made me suspicious. I went back and purchased a new copy stand.
Using my DSLR and the 18-35mm lens To copy boxes of old photos that will be discarded, I used a 55 kit lens. The camera's software was included. The camera is kept steady by using a remote shutter release. I can zoom in to fill the entire sensor with the image. I back up my computer files to a thumb drive every day, and this winter, I'll do the same with my slides.
When I put this together, I got a pleasant surprise. It's ideal for photographing 35mm slides and 120 film negs with my digital SLR. It comes highly recommended. It was strong enough to support a large camera.
I've been using it to copy slides with a light panel and am very pleased with the results. This item seemed to be a good deal to me.
The product is effective.
A little shaky, to the point where moving the camera's focus ring will move the bracket enough to change the focus slightly. To ensure perfect focus, you'll need to adjust and check focus a few times.
