Questions & Answers

Taking 9. into consideration The new edge hd evolution will be 25" vs. the upcoming 8" ?

The aperture is likely to win out over a slightly better optical design for those who have a visual observer's eye (like me). Only when you do high-level tasks do you see this improvement Since end imaging is the most important aspect of any imaging technique, refractors (with field flatteners) or corrected SCTs are generally used. A visual observer tends to pay little attention to the edges of the image field, because he or she focuses on the objects he or she wants to look at. It's light- As the primary optic has a large collecting area, the gathering power is directly proportionate. This is the ninth answer. The 25-year-old One 8-inch optic will be able to gather more light than one 8-inch There is only one inch. The resolution of a larger optical also improves. This is what Celestron's specs look like (theoretical maximum) resolution of 57 arcsec and light source Twenty-five years old The resolution is 49 arcsec and the light intensity is 0.8 1127X has a gathering power of. Choosing the 9 is not a difficult decision for me. Twenty-five years old A review of Evolution over the last eight years For the 25 a beefier motor is used than for the 6 It was easy for me to select Twenty-five years old The following are two reasons for being in In the first instance, it was the cost ($1,600 vs $2,100) and in the second instance, it was the an elderly person, and while I am capable of handling the 9, it would be a challenge. Getting the 9 as I get older, as I get older, I'm using 25 tubes. The process of attaching the 25 optical tube to the mount would become harder with a greater chance that I might drop it during the 2) The Evolution 8-based There is a $100 difference between Edge and 9 in terms of price. The 25-year-old There's no way I can tell how well this will work. It seems that the standard Evolution scopes can be aligned either through the handset (which provides a number of options) or using the SkyPortal app, which just uses SkyAlign (three brilliant Observer input is required for SkyAlign, but it is pretty easy and has always worked for me (using either my 8-slice or 16-slice A short explanation of You should also be aware that serious imaging will not be possible without The Edge Evolution cannot be carried out without the addition of a wedge that converts the alt-az into the equatorial set (Alt-Az mounts produce field rotation, which limits the performance of very precise operations. Photo of an asteroid taken over a long exposure A visual representation. I do not think major imaging professionals are opting for the 8-slot It is likely that they will gravitate towards heavier CPC series with an Edge optical tube (which is more stable). The Evolution series is so easy to understand and use that I consider it the best For visual observers, the best method is to use optical tubes and mounts available today.

If you align the telescope, does it automatically track the rotation of the Earth in order to keep objects in ?

In practice it will keep an object centered but will appear that stars around it rotate over time. This is not a problem for visual tracking, but for long exposures of visual imagery, the stars will appear to rotate (typically called Astrophotography can be a lot of fun, but it is important to invest in a high quality equatorial mount. In my opinion, Sky Watcher AZ-84 is a good product The EQ5 is the opposite of In addition to these improvements, EQ6 even performs better for larger payloads (OTA (optical tube assembly), finder, diagonal, eyepiece, guiding scope, etc.).

Is there more to the difference than Is there an internal GPS in it?

This telescope features brass worm gears, clutch locks in both axes (you can manually move the telescope), an internal rechargeable battery, a padded illuminated eyepiece holder and multiple auxiliary ports (promising for next year?

Looks like it does not come with a barlow lens. What kind of barlow lens should I buy? Do you have a recommendation for a barlow lens?

A medium grade lens with an aperture of 8mm produces an image distorted by lens imperfections at that magnification.

Selected User Reviews For Celestron NexStar Evolution Telescope

I was so surprised that something so small could cause so much pain! However, I would have given it a five star rating but for a problem I encountered when using the scope a second time
4/5

For my personal use, the scope was set up in the backyard so that I could continue learning how to use it. My controller needed to be updated. I found that I would need to do so on the web. Plugging the scope into a PC and downloading the software update are the only ways to update the software. Despite the scope being Celestron-branded, the Celestron cable you need to update the software is not included. Spending $1600 would lead you to believe that. In addition to the $900 Celestron, the $10 cable will be included. This is not true! Separately, you will have to order the cable. There is a 9 pin RS232 connector on the cable as well We come to the end of section 232. These days, most PCs do not come with a 9 pin serial port. It has become the norm to use In other words, you must also A cable that connects a 232 to a USB port. As one of the most prestigious suppliers of amateur astronomy equipment, Celestron has a lot to offer. Including this inexpensive, but necessary cable with the order is a thoughtful gesture. You can upgrade to a USB cable as well. It is also a top-notch telescope in every other respect.

I like the scope of the project
5/5

The scope has been with me for several months, so now I would like to give a quick review detailing the pros and cons. As an upgrade to my 90mm Orion table top scope, this scope features a 62mm focal length. It is extremely portable, even for its size, given their small size. The light is not necessarily a good thing. It is more lightweight than anything else for the same size. It is easy to set up as well. After the scope is mounted, all that remains is to attach it to the mount. There are no counter weights or any fancy equipment. A lot of time and effort goes into the alignment process, too. There is no need for My front yard has moderate light pollution, but I am still able to get good views and images with the ZWO ASI 120MC (I use it in my front yard). Below are the images that I took. Since it was windy when I took the images of the moon, they are a little blurry, but not too A wireless connection between my iPad and the scope may just suddenly stop working from time to time. In order to align everything correctly, I need to perform a complete restart. The lack of consistency is not a deal breaker, but when it does happen I am not thrilled with it. I think that's the only thing I dislike about the scope.

Aside from that
The star alignment process is excellent. I should mention that. The scope may need one change, though, for those who choose to purchase it. For alignment with three different stars, it is recommended that you place a star in the middle of your eyepiece. When aligning stars, I have found that you could get a wider field of view by using a wide lens, then change the magnitude to a higher magnitude, then it would align better. I have been able to go out on cloudy nights every night I have been able to.

The scope of the project is excellent

Picture of Jupiter can be seen here. The scope measures 25"
I was quite impressed with it. The difference is considerable when I compare an 8" to a 10. In addition to being very sturdy and stable, the tripod is also lightweight. Furthermore, the spreader does not have to be removed to close it. In addition, one of the tripod legs has a strap that can be used to secure the tripod when transporting it. As the spreader is metal rather than plastic, it is solid and convenient for eyepieces to be stored. There is a spring loaded knob that holds the mount to the tripod securing it to the tripod. The mount is solid and rather heavy. Compared to 8" this is an improvement. In a single piece, I can still move it locally- and even a few yards (ie from inside the house to the backyard) without having to take everything apart. If I drive somewhere, I need to separate and collapse the tripod from the rest. The WiFi connection simplifies You are simply required to point your mobile device's GPS towards three stars, as it takes the scope's position and time from the mobile device GPS. * The mobile app is not as stable as I would like, though much faster than my previous Nerxstar 8SE that required me to punch in my location, city, and time zone. There are times when the scope crashes or loses connection. It sometimes takes a long time for the application to respond, or it only responds when you tap an In other words, the scope keeps moving, since the app is stuck and believes you are still pressing the move When you fine-align objects, you often adjust more than you should due to the delayed response. I use the app for setting up the alignment, for GoTo, but I control all the scope movements, control fine tuning, and make corrections using the handheld device. There are some areas that need improvement in the app. There is no search scope on the 12SE, and it is not up to the standard of the I like the finderscope, but I think the red light is a bit bigger, and the collimation isn't as stable as I would have liked. There needs to be something better provided by Celestron. The Evo 9 is also available. The RS232 cable for updating firmware is not included with the 25. Are you serious? Two thousand dollars for a scope without a cable, which is five dollars. That's a misguided marketing decision, I'm not sure which one it is. This surprised me at first, because I thought it must have been because of the WiFi, but it isn't. One of the things I noticed about this scope compared with the 8SE is that I have to collimate the optic very often, almost every time I use it. Because it arrived so far off collimation, perhaps because the optics were so large, it doesn't seem to maintain collimation after being A chroma aberration of 8SE is more significant than the chroma aberration of I have to agree that this motor is significantly better than the 8SE, much more precise, accurate and effective. It also maintains We recommend the Vibration Suppression Pads ASIN B0000665V7 as well. They are able to reduce wind induced vibration and vibration you create when you focus very closely on an object by a lot. It stops instantly when you don't touch anything, but without pads it takes a couple more seconds

The scope was bought via Adorama (ASIN B0172UR7QU) which is the same and also comes with free eyepieces. The Nexstar 8SE has a number of improvements and new features over The tripod is much sturdier, the motor is improved, and WiFi allows you to use GPS on your mobile device. It is better and more professional overall. Here are some pictures taken with the Evo 9 from the Evo 9, which can be found in the attached folder. PIPP and Registax 6 were used to process the Neximage 5 and a 25.
