As part of my Celestron NexStar SLT, I use this device. review has been difficult to write. I have a number of complaints about the device, such as my iPad 2 losing connection with the WiFi signal and having to reconnect. This is a pain since I can't access the internet without leaving the Skyportal app first. It's also very difficult to use the direction controllers. In the future, I strongly recommend using the arrow buttons on the hand controller to center at the eyepiece and only using Skyportal to navigate when you're looking at the screen, or at the very least when you're looking at it. Sky Safari's telescope functionality is really more of a feature bolted on to the side than it is an integral part, and it makes the whole experience very clunky. The app has a lot of other issues that are annoying. I must look in the Settings menu if I wish to click on a specific RA or Dec. There is nothing more to be said about this. In other words, setups and settings are better suited to this section. It would be easy for me to make a list of similar annoyances, but I am not interested in taking Is it possible that the Henry Draper and SAO catalogues (among others) are not included in the device? Also, why aren't all the popular double star catalogues (like Burnham, Struve, Herschel, etc. ) included? My 114LCM is connected to this device. I found it a little tricky to set up (especially to the wifi access point), but after I got it set up it worked perfectly.
