As a result of reading the reviews, I expected this product to be a lot more functional and am very disappointed in its results. It will remain my goal to find something better and will be returned. In order to have a monocular in my pack on my hike, I was searching for one. My only requirement is that I can see clearly enough to identify trails, approaching weather or dangerous animals ahead at a reasonable magnification with no need for rapid speed or amazing performance. It's not my interest to watch birds. I had low expectations and low needs before starting the program. I had anticipated a higher performance given the manufacturer's description and buyer reviews, but it was significantly lower. There is nothing spectacular about the form factor, but it's It is easy and comfortable to grasp, handle, hold, and adjust focus due to its small size. Using my scale, the weight appears to be only 2 7/8 ounces. Although good for backpacking, it is a poor indicator of quality, because the glass must be very thin and there must be few lenses to correct distortion or clarity, or much plastic and possibly internal This poor optical quality has a negative effect on performance. The balance of the image area is not in focus. Even at maximum sharpness, the center 1/3 of the image area is blurry, followed by the remainder 2/3 of the perimeter. The performance of most cheap, poor quality plastic toy optics is similar. I assumed this would be sharp, after reading the reviews that this was very clear and bright. In spite of that, it appears the front and rear lenses are made from glass and are coated with some type of material. A fine line can be seen running from the top of the lens down the center with an arrow pointing downward. The oddity of the construction isn't readily noticeable from the objective end, but is a curious aspect of its design. They use a lens that looks like it's split or something from an optic with a crosshair etched into the lens I have never seen something like that As long as the line is focused, it will not move. It may not be a 10x optic, but it depends how much qualification you have. With a superior ocular like mine, I had the ability to compare it to a single lens of a high end Leopold binocular of the same size. This provided a good indication of power, given quality. There is a little room for doubt, I admit. It was more like 7 in comparison. The field of view is very narrow at 8x magnification. When compared to a low end 10x Nikon ocular, the image size was identical to that of I suppose that it could be said that this may be similar magnification to other low-end optics, but I'm skeptic that it is a true I don't find it significant for my purposes in either case, but I wanted to note that it may not have been listed accurately. Although there is no way to determine if FOV is being accurately determined, we can compare it to two other optics of the same objective size that have slightly tighter FOV than this optic. Compared to the other products, there is simply no comparison when it comes to brightness and clarity, which are several times superior. The brightness of this product for its size and cost is not horrible. It's about what I would expect for the price, but I would never use the word "bright" or "good" as a description. It is not a bright optic and is significantly dimmer than what you can see with the naked eye even at noonday high altitude with no clouds, which is about as bright as you will ever see. My wife borrowed it and said she could never get anything in focus and couldn't see out of it.

I returned it after she said she could never get anything in focus or see out of it. Although her sight is not great and she wears glasses, she has never had trouble seeing out of any monocular or binocular before, so I conclude that its poor design and quality are to blame for its lack of image quality. The clarity, lack of brightness, and a small field of vision make me think that this product is only marginally useful. I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than a play toy for the kids in the backyard and would recommend that you continue seeking out something more suitable. Many of the positive reviews here seem to be from people who don't know what they are looking at or who don't have anything comparable to compare it with, or who are not concerned or don't care about Even though it may be better than other Chinese craps out there, it is still poor quality. realize that a $20+ product won't compete in terms of quality with higher priced optics, and I'm not looking for a product that will, but I believe that you can do much better than this for the same or less money. I think the company should step up their game since it shouldn't be that difficult given the cost to become a significantly better product. There is a lot of room for improvement in this product. Unless it was a beta product that was never designed with quality control before being put on the market, or it's a cheap plastic lens cloaked as glass, I suspect it's a beta product that was never designed with quality control before being put on the market. China produces some of the highest quality optics in the world currently, so it should be able to do better, in my opinion. I'm sorry Roxant, but these aren't good enough even for this price and the performance could be worse.

I already own a couple of the Roxant scopes but this has quickly become one of my favorites. It's a great looking scope with its textured grip and finger ring. The scope has a molded shape, feels solidly built and fits in the hand comfortably, helping to ensure stability when using it. There is a good balance between size and power. The mini is slightly bigger than the original A monocular that's smaller than a grip scope, it fits easily in a jacket pocket or Its size combined with its excellent optical quality - which is common to all Roxant scopes I have used - make it one of its greatest assets. I tend to keep the scope with me when I would usually leave a larger scope at home just to observe the wildlife around my house. But I continually discover new uses for it since I primarily use it to observe wildlife around my house. Recenty I found it useful in identifying and determining the extent of damage to a roof of a property I was thinking of As of this writing, I have not yet tested the scope's durability under more rugged "field" conditions. However, at a cost of just over $20 it is not a very expensive purchase.

In addition to building my own telescopes, I am an amateur astronomer. In light of the fact that it was beyond 75 feet, the Viper did not focus past it. Seeing beyond 75 feet was not in focus due to the focus ring being maxed out. You cannot buy this property if you wish to view the yard across the street.

The tactile quality is excellent as well. The Viper has been helping me find hidden addresses in low light in rural areas (I am a paratransit operator) and find clients at very early hours in the morning off of back roads with little to no lighting, and road conditions that are not conducive to driving. It provides enhanced visibility even in near total darkness when used with any street sign, house number, etc. The compact design of the Viper makes it more accessible than a pair of small binoculars, and the optics ensure clarity even when used in extreme conditions.
