It's far too frail for the purposes for which I purchased it. What a waste of time.
I'm a member of a local film club, and we use this to darken windows for shots that include them. This stuff is a lifesaver! br>br> br>br>We cut the material to fit the window, sprayed the window with water, applied the gel, and squeegeed the bubbles out. br>br>In some cases, it's simply preferable to turn off the incoming light rather than amp up the light in a large room. It's a lot easier to get a properly exposed shot with this. br>br>It is highly recommended that you have it in your kit, even if it is a little pricey. br>br>Keep in mind that it can be reused if you are careful. Purchase some poster tubes to keep the materials you'll be working with for later use. Fantastic product! br>br>.
I used this to cover a large window in my bedroom that was difficult to conceal with a curtain or shade. Now I have the dark room that I've always desired.
This functioned as expected, and I was able to use it in a pinch for a last-minute shoot. I had to keep a very hot Lowell tota under control. It performed admirably, and I eventually stopped keeping an eye on it out of fear of something bad happening due to the heat.
I make my own barn doors for my lights out of Rosco Matte Black Cinefoil. It enables me to direct light in the direction and in the location that I require. I can even direct the eyeball light toward my back drop by lifting it above my head. It's quite thick, but it's simple to shape to your specifications. I would strongly suggest it.
This is my first time using Cinefoil, and it has met and exceeded all of my expectations. I've only used it to direct studio lighting and black out a window so far. This is the product to get if you want a simple product that does exactly what it says.
Cinefoil is used in BLACK WRAP. Last-minute flags, snoots, extended barn doors, and stopped strange light leaks have all been made with this material. Without it, I'm completely naked.
You must obtain this if you are aware of what it is. It really works. No spill. I wish the price was a little lower, and the box included a metal cutting strip similar to regular aluminum foil. This is merely a suggestion.
