Questions & Answers

Is it capable of withstanding a certain amount of heat?

I'm not sure about heat tolerance because I'm using it with LED lamps. But, because it's a thin plastic sheet, I'm guessing it won't hold up well to heat.

Is this for a single 20" x 24" sheet?

Yes, one large sheet of filter plastic was all that was required. The ships began to move.

Is there a limit to how much heat this gel can withstand?

I only use it with a low-heat led light because it is unknown to me.

Is this gel sticky like a vinyl film and does it require an adhesive to install?

It is a sheet of very thin plastic that is attached to a film / video light fixture with wooden clothes pins to the fixture's barndoors, just like a sheet of paper.

Color temperature of LED puck lights can be changed using this device
5/5

the ideal solution I do a lot of custom built-ins and use LED for accent and task lighting, and this film allows me to adjust the color temperature of the various units to match or suit the client. It's a great tool to have in your toolbox.

The color of LED puck lights is warmed by this effect
5/5

Perfect for "warming up" the color of LED puck lights that were too blue to blend in with the rest of my home's lighting. I made disks out of film and taped them together with transparent tape. To achieve a perfect match, I had to use two layers, but it worked out beautifully.

Make sure your Cineos are in the same color family as your Moles
5/5

(In my head, that sounded better. ) It was exactly what I needed to make our Cineo HS and LS lights a little warmer to match our Moles, Arris, and Source 4s. To be clear, the Cineos are deadly accurate in their matching, and all of the tungsten lights are a variety of colors, very close to each other but unfortunately individually unique. They're all warmer than the Cineos, and I'd been putting up with it for a while before finally doing something about it. Because we have two HS and two 2K Moles as our main players, it's pretty obvious when they don't quite match. 1/4 was a little warm, and 1/8 was a little cool, but they were both close to the right temperature.

Works
4/5

It does its job, but my sheet had a lot of deep gnarly creases, so I docked a star.

Gels
4/5

It did the job, but I should have gone with a darker color, like 1/4 or higher.

The change is very subtle
5/5

I tried to lower the temperature of a 6000k light to 4500k with this, but it didn't quite work. I had to double it, which is fine, but I should have gotten the denser one instead.
