With colored gels and multiple flash units or fixed lights with colored glass in front of them, you can do a lot of interesting things in your creative photography adventures. This small set of various colored plastic "gels" makes a great starter set for both beginners and professionals. Don't expect these plastic gels to last as long as the older glass ones; they will curl and warp with use over time, but this set is so inexpensive that you'll just buy another set when you're ready. My second set arrived recently, after my first set (of a different brand but nearly identical design) lasted nearly two years. When some of the plastic gels I was using became unusable, I switched to a slightly different shade of the same gel and adjusted my flash accordingly. I also liked combining two gels to get more colors, so you might want to give it a try. br>br>The velcro strap that wraps around your flash's strobe head ensures a secure fit and prevents it from slipping off. My old kit had a rubber band that went around the strobe head, but it lost its elasticity over time, so I switched to the velcro band. It's what I use on my Nikon SB-1000. I use an 800 flash and attach the velcro to the strobe head, which allows me to slide it on and off as needed, or I can leave it attached and flip the barn door up and out of the way when not in use. br>br>In addition to the colored plastic "gels" that slide into the clear plastic barn door, there is a reflective silver bounce reflector with a black reverse side. br>br>I like this set and would recommend it to others.

Please read the disclaimer. I'm a photographer, and I'd like to introduce myself. Because I have the space, I permit my mentor to hold classes in my home. When it comes to accessories, I use a variety of brands. Why not! My photography instructor had an old set of gels with the big blue rubber band, and he was fumbling around trying to get them on. I bought these for myself, but he liked them so much that I bought him a set for his classes as well. I gladly agreed when he requested it. The only drawback is that the gels easily slip out of the holder, but this isn't a major issue. With a little tape, I'm sure it'll be a simple fix. And don't forget about the gels. There are numerous color options available. I'm overjoyed to have this set, and I strongly suggest it! The price is extremely reasonable.

That one allows for flash "light" spill, which is fine if you want that look. br>As you can see in the photo, this product was used on the left side, while the other type was used on the right (hence the right arm being lit up). It wasn't a major issue because my client enjoyed it. br>I'm excited to put them to use more frequently. Everything appears to be well constructed, so I expect them to last a long time.

When using a camera, make sure to use portrait mode. If you're doing any portrait work, the gels will easily fall out of the holder. On your camera's hot shoe, take oriented shots. It probably doesn't matter if you're using off-camera flash, but I'd rather have the flexibility just in case. I'm most likely going to return them, but I might be able to jerry-rig them. To keep them safe, rig something that isn't too inelegant.

I loved taking pictures with this and being able to simply switch the lights and move them around was incredible. br>br>It came with its own stand, but I didn't think it was very good, and I had already purchased other stands that I thought worked better.

It's a great value for the money, and adding color to your flash photography is a lot of fun. It can be used to add color to rims. lighting. Alternatively, you could color the entire background and take edgy silhouette shots.
