Questions & Answers

The hex head wrench was stipped by me. Is it possible to get a replacement wrench or do I have to purchase a new plate?

Yes, but you'll have to get in touch with Spider's customer service. It is not available for purchase on Amazon.

Is it compatible with the spider black widow belt holster? Is the pin the same size as the one in the picture?

Yes, it does, as I've noticed with all the aftermarket and off-brand ones.

Is this suitable for holsters on both sides of the body?

Please keep in mind that the Light Plate is only available in one position. You can continue to carry on the left, but the camera will hang in a different position.

Is this compatible with the drill-specific spider holster?

The Spider drill holster, in my experience, is slightly bigger than this mount. I was concerned that my camera would be yanked from its mounting.

You'll need this if you're a pro who shoots on location or in the studio
5/5

I purchased the Spider lite a few years ago and thought it was the greatest invention since slice bread. I had completely forgotten about the pro version until I accidentally misplaced the lite when attaching a hand grip to my camera. I did a couple of other shoots without it and felt completely naked. I have nightmares about putting my camera on a ledge to assist someone with a pose or to lift a light and it being knocked off the ledge or falling to the ground. This SpiderPro is even better than the Lite in terms of ease of use, compatibility with DSLR and mirrorless cameras, and the Allen wrench that can be attached to the plate. br>br>Hands down, if you're a pro, and especially if you're a single shooter, this is a must-have. br>br>Prosbr>Easy to usebr>Easy to attachbr>Comes with Allen Wrenchbr>Able to hold camera by your side rather than sitting it somewhere where it could be knocked over or stepped onbr>br>br>Consbr>Nonebr>None.

It's good, but it could be better
4/5

When installing this on the bottom of your Z6 or Z7, make sure the plate is aligned with the plastic anti-skid heads. butt-rotation screws close to the camera's body's edge The plate will not be able to rotate as a result of this. However, once you've got the plate in the right place and are tightening the 1/4-inch bolt, Because the screw has already reached the end of the slot, its folding wing interferes with the surrounding metal. As you tighten the screw, the plate shifts due to this interference. One way to get around this is to place the plate in such a way that the anti-slip surface is on the inside of the plate. If the rotation screws aren't butted up against the camera body, the plate may twist over time; another option is to remove the folding wing from the 1/4-inch screw. To ensure proper clearance, use a 20 screw. I wish the plate had a little more weight to it. I'm thinking about designing one for my Z6 and having it CNC milled out of aluminum, but without the sliding center section.

After reading several reviews, I decided to purchase this item
4/5

Initially, I bought the cheaper version of this, which was designed for point-and-shoot cameras. When I first received the Black Widow holster, I discovered that it is a little clunky, and while it does its job well, it isn't quite as minimalist as I had hoped. However, this isn't meant to be a criticism of the purchase. The Black Widow holster came with a pin that I used to screw into my camera's tripod mount, and it worked perfectly. The issue was that I needed something simple that also allowed me to mount and dismount the camera from the tripod while also allowing me to holster the camera at my hip when I needed my hands free. However, because I'm not a professional photographer and only use this for sightseeing, having 'the complete system' isn't essential. However, I'm most likely going to upgrade from the Black Widow holster to the Spiderlight holster in order to keep things a little more discreet and easy to put on and take off. br>br>Having said that, the spiderlight plate was the ideal solution for my needs. I bought it with a quick-drying shirt. As shown in the photos, I removed the clamp and used both with my Ultrapod. I'm using a Canon EOS M6 with a Rokinon 12mm lens, as you can see in the photo. br>br>I have no issues with the fit of most lenses because of this. It does stick out a little, but that's not a problem for me. My EF lenses, on the other hand, require two adapters. One of these adapters is the Viltrox M2 speedbooster, which allows me to use full frame lenses while maintaining a field of view that is nearly identical to that of a full frame sensor. The Spiderlight plate, on the other hand, prevents the speedbooster from locking into the camera mount because it has a tripod attachment on the bottom. I attempted to remove the ostensibly detachable tripod mount from the speedbooster, but the screws appeared to be glued on the inside, and even if they weren't, I decided to find another solution rather than strip the screws. So, looking at the bottom of the Spiderlight plate, I noticed two tiny black screws that prevented the plate from being moved back on the camera even further. Once those screws were taken out (I didn't see why they were there in the first place. I was able to slide the plate back just enough for the speedbooster to lock shut because they weren't holding anything down. br>br>Aside from that, I've had no problems with it, and while it does work well with the Black Widow holster, I'm planning to upgrade to the Spiderlight holster and keep the Black Widow holster in my patrol belt's backpack for times when I need to bring my camera to work.

It's fantastic! I already had the spider holster and had just bought a new camera, so I knew I'd need a spider plate and pin for it
5/5

I've had the spider belt for a few years and love using these plates on my cameras. The plate attaches to my camera body with ease (and the Allen wrench is included, which is a plus). The plate doesn't take up much space, and I can still shoot in portrait mode without the pin getting in the way. If you have the Spider holster, you will need this.

The best system on the market! This is my fourth Spider plate, and my first from this particular seller
5/5

From the same seller, I purchased a second belt with holster. ALL GOOD! br>This is the only way to transport equipment in a safe, secure, and well-designed manner. Reaching for the camera and then returning it to the holster becomes automatic. The cameras start to feel like a part of you. The apparatus is in good working order. The strap is also a smarter design, allowing you to focus on shooting rather than worrying about someone stealing your gear or being distracted by gear bouncing off your chest. There are no more neck straps or distractions, which means better shots and more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Nice!! If you want to keep an Arca-style camera, this is the clamp to get
5/5

Swiss L- Use your Spider Holster and a plate on your camera. The old Spider mounting plates are large and heavy, and they may not fit all camera bodies. This clamp has a great design. It has been meticulously machined and finished. The anodized finish is absolutely stunning. It's a significant improvement over Spiders' other mounting plate options, which appear to be made of cast aluminum. It even has a laser etched centerline mark to ensure that your lens is perfectly centered. The dual pin design for left and right hip carry is also something I really like. Spider Holster, you've done a fantastic job!.
