Questions & Answers

What is MLC and what does it mean?

"Metal (Screw in) Len Cap" is the best I can come up with after looking at other sites that list the product. I believe the original intention was to sell only the front cap (male), which would act as a screw-in lens cap that would provide better protection than plastic lens caps. Perhaps it's a nod to the older metal and screw-in lens caps from decades ago. They must have invented the female back cap that creates the "sandwich" effect when carrying filters. br>Of course, this is just a guess on my part, but I can say that if you only need to carry one thing, this is a great product. Without the bulk of traditional plastic filter cases or filter pouches, you can carry three well-protected filters in your pocket.

What is the maximum number of filters that can be packed into a single case?

They aren't a real situation. The caps should be threaded on each end of your filter, or on the exposed filter ends if you have three filters threaded together.

What is the total number of filter caps included in the package? Two of the filter caps would be required if I wanted to use this as end caps for a stack of filters. ?

Back and front caps are included in the set; only one is required to hold as many filters as desired. You'll need one for each filter size you're using, of course.

Filter wallets aren't for the faint of heart! I'll be honest: I bought this to protect a single filter so that I could easily identify it and toss it into my camera bag's "everything else" section
4/5

For cameras and lenses, I have padded compartments, but what about filters? These are the ones that get tossed around with the chargers, cables, and batteries. br>br>Now it's my turn to laugh. Because these filter caps make carrying filters so small and convenient, I now keep almost all of my filters with me at all times. My filters are now a fist-sized nugget of diopters stacked on neutral density filters stacked on polarizers stacked on God-awful God-awful God-awful God-awful God-awful God-awful God-awful God-awful God-awful knows- what. If I slipped the mass into a sock, I could probably use them for self-defense at this point. br>br>Alright, here's the catch: For adjustable filters, these filter caps aren't very good. Adjustable filters, such as graduated filters and some polarizers, can be twisted after they've been screwed on to change their orientation. Obviously, those don't mix well in a stack, and good luck if two adjustable filters end up stuck together. Even my trusty filter wrenches can't always get a good grip on the outside rings of adjustable filters. br>br>Alright, so if you have a lot of filters with different diameters, this might not be the best solution. Is it entirely your fault for not ordering all of your filters in the largest diameter required and instead opting for step-down filters? down a ring or two? You already know it's true. You should be ashamed of yourself and hang your head. Even so, those step-by-step instructions Down rings will need a place to ride, so a wallet might be a better option.

It does the job, but be careful not to overtighten the caps on the filter
3/5

This product does exactly what it says on the tin: it protects a filter or a stack of filters from damage while being stored in a camera bag. There's no longer any need for bulky filter cases. However, there is one caveat: The caps on the filter should not be tightened all the way. I did it with a high-end polarizing filter, and I almost couldn't get the internal threaded cap off. The connection had to be broken with a lot of effort. I was afraid I'd misplace my filter. I'm only loosely threading both caps on now that they've finally come apart. The filter is still protected. That is why the rating is three stars. It works fine; just don't overtighten the caps.

It's difficult to find anything negative to say about this place - it's so convenient and compact
5/5

I stuffed a bunch of ND, polarized, and color filters into my camera bag in the smallest possible configuration. The edges of the filters are still exposed, but there will be no dust or debris on the glass. I was concerned that separating them again (rather than removing them from a wallet) would be inconvenient, but it isn't a big deal, and I believe it will keep them safer. If you're still concerned about them, stuff everything into a chamois or a wallet.

Protecting your filters in this manner is a great idea
5/5

(If you don't mind taking your time. ) These were purchased to go with a 67mm filter stack. (There are four NDs and a CPL. ) ) They fit perfectly and are relatively easy to work with if you don't overtighten them. I like how compact the stack is and how solid it feels. The only drawback is the amount of time it takes to unscrew the front and back of the filter before screwing it onto the lens. If you're not in a hurry, this isn't a big deal, but if you frequently change the filters, it can be annoying.

Saves space
5/5

It's often difficult for me to pack all of my filters into a filter bag to bring with me on shoots. Because it's stackable, this is a good option for protecting my filter while also saving space in my bag. When I need to combine two sizes (I have to buy two sets of different filter sizes, but it's cheap enough), such as when I keep my CPL or when I need to use a converter ring for a larger filter, I combine two sizes. Then I can keep them together and only connect when I'm using it, saving me a step.

Male Cap with 67mm "Filter Stack Caps" are two "Threaded Aluminum Covers" stacked on top of each other
5/5

"br>One is labeled "Male Threads," while the other is labeled "Female Threads. "br>Each of them has a screw. br>These are available in the same sizes as their lenses and filters, and can be used to protect threads that don't have caps. br>For the "back side" of filters, there are no standard caps; side of the filter with a male thread br>As a result, if you want to protect the "back side" of a filter, you'll need to make your own cap. These "Filter Stack Caps" come with a "female threaded" cap that fits the "back side" of your filters. br>br>I own each of these and highly recommend them:

To begin with, these filter caps appeal to me
4/5

To begin with, these filter caps appeal to me. It's made of durable aluminum and serves as a convenient way to store and transport your filters. I have some very expensive B W 77mm polarizers and UV's that I'd like to protect, and this is far superior to carrying them in separate plastic cases. This same stack product is also available in 58 and 82 mm filter sizes. I also stack them in a Canon lens leather pouch, which works perfectly and prevents the metal from scratching anything else in my camera bag. br>br>On that note, keep in mind that these are machined aluminum, so make sure they don't scratch anything else if you throw them in your bag. (This is why I keep all of my various stacks in a single leather lens pouch. ) I've been looking into plastics for a while now. They were dipped as well as a way to keep them from scratching other objects. Regardless, they do an excellent job of storing and protecting the lenses. br>br> I was going to give 5 stars, but I took one away because mine appeared to have been dropped and dinged. And the ding turned into a sharp burr that could easily cut you as well as scratch up something else, such as a filter. Not good. That said, it was simple to smooth out, and I didn't bother to come back. Apart from that, I strongly suggest these for all filter sizes.

Works
5/5

Metal lens stack caps are a nice touch. It performs exactly as expected. As a "buy it once, wear it forever" item, it should last a long time. It protects lenses from scratching and keeps them free of dust. The cost was not outrageous. My purchase went well. br>br>M was the first to receive the shipment. , but the seller stood by his word and promptly sent me a replacement; I would buy from him again and recommend him to others.
