There was a time when it came with donuts - However, it now includes a knicker - If it's the right size, a donut would definitely fit and stay snug. You should be able to cut one fairly easily.
I don t know because I don t have it in front of me, but I don t think it is quite large enough. I've worked with Canon Cine glass before, and I remember thinking when I first got it that it wouldn't fit. Rokinon Cine Primes, which have a smaller diameter, are what I use. It's a shame, because the matte box itself is fantastic. Very good quality for a fraction of the price of the competition. I spent a lot of time looking for matte boxes before I found this one, and I'm glad I did.

In retrospect, however. Carbon fiber is a fantastic material. However, I believe I would have chosen a different box in retrospect. Filter holders that fit 4x4 filters are relatively inexpensive. Turning is not easy. I would have chosen a box that could accommodate larger filters. This is an excellent box for keeping the sun at bay. It comes with a nice carrying case.
This is on the verge of being a good matte box. It may be fine if you're using smaller lenses, but because I'm using Cine primes, the matte box must align with the lens. br>It appears to be 3/8 in off. There aren't any lateral adjustments available.
Also: The frames will not accommodate 4x4 filters. This is in desperate need of a makeover.
It's decent, if a tad flimsy, but it'll do for a starter. It does the job, though it is a little heavy due to the fact that it is not entirely made of carbon fiber. However, the matte box as a whole is quite good.
For beginners and those who complain that getting out and in of the filter tray is difficult, this is the best trick ever. If you don't turn the screws fast enough, the tray will fly away.

00, which is a very reasonable price, so here is a very thorough review of the piece. br>It's just the right size, not too bulky, and the carbon fiber finish is stunning. br>However, I can't say the same about the aluminum parts, which have a rather rough finish, which explains the price. br>So I took it apart and polished everything I could, and wooow it turned into a whole new high quality matte box, there was something very well thought out about how the pieces screwed together, I'll post pictures later. br>An interesting feature is that the upper flag screws to the main plate rather than the carbon fiber. br>You have two filter housings, one of which rotates and the other of which is made of plastic 4x4. br>It has a lot of adjustability and is surprisingly light. br> So there you have it, gentlemen, if you've been looking for a low-cost matte box with a carbon fiber housing, this is it. It is an investment that you will not be sorry for.
This matte box is well built, very adjustable, and has some nice features, making it a great value. The carbon fiber finish simply adds a dash of bad a** style.
