The equipment that goes into cameras, and lenses especially, are just so expensive that why would you waste any more, even a few dollars for something as simple as a lens hood, for something that needs to be secure, solid, and not interfere with the operation of the entire camera. As a second hand lens reseller, I had an expensive second hand lens that needed a 77mm end cap, and I have more than enough experience to know the value added by having official parts as opposed to aftermarket parts. The cap I bought happened to be generic. price of alternatives, and if these alternatives are bought in packs, four times their price. Fivefold more than what you would expect. You can find a few here like JJC that match the bill, and there was one that shipped fastest at the time. I'd get these only if you have a native Sony lens that's 300+ and you want to get top dollar. Other than that, go somewhere else where the same, or even better, function is available.

For lenses measuring 77 mm, this cap is snug and secure

The cap I use on the Zeiss Batis 2 is a replacement for the original cap. For Sony E-Mounts with the 8-18 Wide Angle Lens Listed by Mount. The Zeiss L18mm batis lens uses a very flimsy front cap, which is easily lost. If you're thinking about getting the very good Batis 18mm lens, you'd better pick up this cap to prevent it from getting lost.

I am only listing them for those looking to purchase the used in new condition. The more expensive brand new option isn't something I can comment on. For a cheaper alternative I can think of the used option in new condition. Apart from that, it's a great lens cap that fits snugly and looks great.
