Hello, the H type is a two-section design, while the U type is a three-section design. As a result, the U type could be shaped in a variety of ways to meet your lighting needs. Furthermore, both types allow for 180-degree rotation, with the U type allowing for 360-degree rotation in some circumstances.
Please see the 5th main image, which contains detailed size information.
It can easily support my 36 x 48 inch Chimera Super Pro X softbank (4 pounds), as well as a speedring (about 1 pound) and a Speedotron 102 flash head (8 pounds). (5 lbs.). It is made of durable iron and aluminum rather than plastic.
Metal is used for the top one. Plastic is layered on top of metal in the two lower ones. Excellent craftsmanship.

the quality and ability of its parts to last. Overall this product offers a great value on well constructed metal pieces; I feel that the 3 section design gives you a lot of freedom to function with the umbrella I used with ease. br>br>I deducted one star from a five-star rating due to the lack of metal knobs. Even so, for the price, this is a great deal.
This adapter has made my life so much easier! I had to rig something up myself because the lighting kit I got didn't come with a large enough soft box to diffuse the light, and the company claimed that traditional soft boxes wouldn't fit the led light. I chose the "U" shaped adapter because I wanted to be able to adjust the lamp and umbrella independently. It works flawlessly! I can adjust how close and far the umbrella is from the light by angling them in the direction I need them. My two young sons are constantly yanking and pulling on the lighting umbrella and lamp. I have to say, the adapter is incredible for how well it has held up around these two! Even after dragging the entire lamp across the room and standing on the umbrella itself, it hasn't moved an inch. I wish I could say the same thing about the light I use. This particular adapter comes highly recommended from me!.
It's not quite as good as the Manfrotto, but it gets the job done. It appears to be just as tough as the Manfrotto. When compared to the manfrotto, the tilt action is 'notched' with positive stops. In practice, this is a minor quibble; the spigots are nice, and they feel like brass to me, despite the ad's claim of aluminum. The umbrella's tightening knob isn't as nice as the manfrotto's. Another reviewer claimed that tightening the umbrella screw required a screwdriver. That is a little dramatic, in my opinion. br>br>For half the price, it does essentially the same job as the Manfrotto.
I've been using these adapters with an umbrella diffuser to use with my LED lights. Because LEDs are often so bulky, decent large soft boxes haven't worked out for me, so I've been using umbrellas instead. These allow me to direct my LEDs more effectively while still evenly distributing the light. They're well-made and include studs.
I already had one of these from a different manufacturer that was nearly identical. This one is built to last. It does have an annoyance, but that annoyance is most likely a security feature. To change the angle, you must loosen the angle adjusting knob a few turns. There appear to be some notches between the two halves that, once tightened, lock it into place. Once locked down, however, it is secure. There will be no droopy umbrellas.
1 camera. On top of that, I used an arca clamp. It's built to last, and every time you move the swivel, detents (similar to ARRI Rosettes) engage. The tightening action mimics the function of a grip head on a C Stand, which is exactly what I needed. It guarantees that when you tighten the swivel, it will not move due to the force applied. My purchase has made me extremely happy.
This device functions properly, but it is not of the highest quality. I'm used to Manfrotto units because they're precision-made, lighter, and more solid. Manfrotto's are, without a doubt, more expensive, but their quality is unsurpassed. These are less expensive, less user-friendly, and I would not purchase them again, but they do the job. What you pay for is exactly what you get. Spend less, as usual - get less.
When I use a 65-inch umbrella with four speedlights, my Manfrotto 026 swivel lite-tite adapter sags. this is it - With this and a more powerful monolight setup, it doesn't even budge. I suppose the fact that it's geared helps, eh?.
