Using this inexpensive bracket, I can hold or hang a camera on a C stand extension arm to shoot straight down at a flat surface. I use it when I'm doing product photography. In addition to holding the camera at an angle, this clamp can also hold it at an angle, but I don't believe it's strong enough to hold a heavy camera regularly. I have used it to hang a camera without any problems. If you want an improved solution, you should get a grip head with a tripod mount, however, it is quite expensive. It is a good place to start if you want to attach a camera to it.
The second one goes with the other Magic Arm I have, and this is my fourth of those purchases. In the third case, I will go with my opinion.
In order to make a macro lighting bracket, I needed to 2) get a macro light. There are no problems with this bracket fitting the posts on the articulating arm.
