It's well worth the price. The steel is strong and cannot be bent in any way. I have placed a Pocked wizard transceiver on the hot shoe of my camera with a Canon 580EXii on top of it in the past. Whenever I stepped on the hot shoe, I felt like I was putting it at risk. In this setup, there does not appear to be the leverage needed to harm the camera easily. When I bought an Azden 3 channel audio mixer and needed to use it with two wireless microphones, before I knew about this product, I went to Ace Hardware and bought a plastic blue box and Velcro to mount the wireless microphones and Azden audio mixer on my Canon G-Series. However, if I had known about this product earlier, which costs under $9, I would have been able to save a lot of time when getting a camcorder bag that's more compact and takes up much less space. The mic that I have connected to it does not work My equipment didn't work with it, which was disappointing to me since I thought it would work with everything I had. In addition, there seems to be an issue with the metal that holds the connections being worn very quickly. This is a relatively small item, so it may appear to be fragile. There has never been a problem with anything falling however, it can feel a bit unstable sometimes. Despite its limitations, it turns out to be an okay product. It works well with the lights and microphones that can be attached.
In addition to an LED light, a boom microphone, and a lapel microphone receiver, I needed it to hold it. Due to a light bumping into the boom mic on its vibration free mount, none of them will fit on it at the same time. In spite of that, there are two devices that work well.
