Questions & Answers

Do you think it is beneficial to use a larger filter than the size of your lens? I have two 77 mm lenses and a Nikon 14-42 What options are available to you?

You should use a larger filter than the lens was designed for so you can use it on multiple lenses so you only need one good CPL Filter instead of getting one for each pair of glass. Your lenses both accept 77mm filters, so I say just buy

This will work as an adapter for an 18-inch tv To a 58 mm Canon Rebel from a 55 mm Canon Rebel. What type of wide angle lens is this?

During the 18-month period An integral filter thread of 58mm is on the 55. A 72mm filter could be placed on the lens using the adapter. **I am unsure as to why you would want to install an auxiliary wide angle on an ultra-wide Zooming in to see more. What do you want to accomplish? Is that what you are trying to accomplish?

Would it be possible to get black areas if I put my 49mm into ?

You will experience severe vignette if you shrink the lens aperture from 67mm to 49mm. Additionally, you will notice shadows and a drastically reduced view of the image I hope this helps illustrate how by looking through a pipe that is two inches wide, then looking through a pipe that is one and a half inches wide, you see a reduced picture that is similar to your question.

What are the compatibilities between this and the Polar pro variable N?

As long as your lens has the correct thread size and you use the correct variable nd, you can do so

My experience with step-up rings goes back 30 years. I've used them for nearly every kind of camera rig you can imagine In addition to 16mm film, 35mm film is also available. A history of bad machining has resulted in many untold moments of panic concerning rings up until now. AWESOME ring! I highly recommend it! well worth the time and effort Upon further inspection, I found it to be well-made, mass (not flimsy), nicely packaged (although I would have it stored in a plastic container), and was a convenience to use This company has a lot of other products including step rings, which I'll be looking for. In the present situation, I think it is a start-up company dedicated to rising to the top and preparing to get there by creating the best gear. This disclaimer applies to all the following There was no free gear given to me to shill for this company/product.
I am writing to let you know what I paid for was outstanding Rarely does something like this happen.

Despite its promising name, this product is incredibly A piece of it stuck to my ND filter while filming a wedding
3/5

These rings got stuck on two different sizes of ND filters I have. I have two of them. The two lenses I used for the wedding were luckily enough to capture the entire day. Step up rings caused me a great deal of stress, and I will never buy them Dousing them in WD-40 is the only way to remove them After taking the 40 apart, cleaning the ND filter and reassembling it would be a good idea (since the oil smears the glass).

That is a very nice ring! As the aluminum step cost so much more than the steel one, I was hesitant to order Rings, and it's hard to say how much better they could be
5/5

As an alternative, the rings are made out of steel, which are usually much heavier than aluminum. In this way, the rings are still very light. Unlike aluminum rings that stick, and was the main reason I was even considering this ring in the first place, it does not do so with this ring. Unfortunately, aluminum rings have stuck in spite of my best efforts to the point where I couldn't believe I would ever be able to remove the filter. I even tried a filter wrench, but it didn't The problem seemed to be a risk you took whenever you used them, no matter what brand or price you bought. With the Breakthrough Photography ring, it appears to have been fixed. been trying to get this ring to stay in place by intentionally tightening a B+W CPL on it a number of times, and it comes loose every single time, using my fingers, and with about the same force as when I Using filters that are only partially screwed on will no longer be an issue.

I like the way it works It is disappointing to see packaging that is so poor
4/5

Offhand, I would like to suggest- It works well to use an up ring. As you try to unscrew a filter from it, the textured, knurled grip makes things a lot easier. Because it is brass, it helps to prevent threads from seizing, and the blackening should reduce flares and unwanted Unlike my other stepsiblings I am unlike my other stepsiblings when I move up to the next level Unlike the ring sourced from another manufacturer, this one comes without any sort of case. Zip-lock bags in plastic were used as packaging I also received a microfibre towel and a ring in the sleeve. Bubble wrap was used to package the package for shipping Plastic envelope that is not stiffened at all. I find this very alarming given the possibility that the ring might have been damaged during shipment. I was lucky because mine threaded easily and I was able to use both my filter and my lens when I did this. Any photographer should be concerned about the packaging and lack of a carrying case given the nature of the shipping package- It would be horrible, for example, if the filter threads on an expensive filter got damaged or the filter threads on an even more expensive lens got damaged from the ring being bent or damaged in transit on an otherwise excellent product. If you want it to fit in a plastic packaging (like Breakthrough Photography's ND filters), or if you want it in a sturdy box, do not ship it in That is not to say that I don't like to talk. Here is the Step-by-Step As for the ring itself, it is very well-constructed It is made Whenever you thread one for the first time, try to be careful. If it threads on smoothly, just go for it.

The whole process isn't 100% smooth/seamless, but it accomplishes the task at hand

The 3 month follow up is as follows The report had originally been rated as 3 stars, but now is 1 star. Like I said previously, I had some trouble getting the filters to screw in to the adapter. I still have this problem. In this context, I am not running around with my camera and wildly swinging it around, just carrying it on a strap. In the end, I think it may have just come loose from the studio walk that resulted in it falling off. After I had screwed my filter in until it was difficult to turn (only about one full rotation), I accidentally dropped it. I purchased a 2 pack of step up adapters for $8 after using this step up adapter for a month. I have no problem screwing in all the way to the cheap adapters and after 2 months of use, there has not been any leakage. In order to match my 67mm to 72mm step-up I purchased the step-up. The 200/f4 and the 28-mm Tamron 75% of f2. There's nothing like the feeling of a 200, silky smooth. In general, my UV filter fitted on the best. It was easy to turn at first, but after a few turns, became a little harder. Because of the way it gets stuck as soon as I rotate it more than a single full revolution, I don't think it fits into the adapter. VND (top) has a large gap between the bottom and top of the adapter, while the UV filter (bottom) has a fairly small gap between it and both of them. I had no problems with the side of the 67mm screw that screwed onto my lens, it was smooth from beginning to end and stayed put.
