I'm the proud owner of a 58-inch television set. For my Canon 50mm f/1, I use a 77mm step up ring. After that, I bought the 62-mm lens. My Tamron 90mm macro lens requires a focal length of 77mm to fit. These are made of brass, which is less likely to stick than aluminum. However, because the brass is at least twice as heavy as the steel, there is a weight difference to consider. br>br>The one difference I noticed was that the first step up ring came in a nice plastic case measuring 3 1/2" x 3 1/2", whereas the last one came in a paper envelope that will not last as long in the field. If I knew where I could get a plastic case for this, I would buy one.
I've owned a number of high-end aluminum rings from various brands. They're a pain to remove because they tend to stick to the lens thread and are difficult to unscrew. Brass rings, it appears, are the solution. br>Luzid rings are brass rings that cost 1/3 to 1/4 of the price of B W rings, which are also brass rings. So far, there haven't been any issues. They appear to be of the highest possible standard. br>In addition to lens filters, Luzid makes some unique ones. However, there isn't much to choose from. If they are suitable for my needs, I will not hesitate to use them.
I'm currently using it to stack a Hoya IR cut filter in front of a Leica DG lens with no issues, and I'm not sure why you'd pay more for a brass step-up. My only improvement would be to add knurling, but that would require me to purchase a ring that costs twice as much.
The threads are precisely cut to ensure a smooth spin. Because brass has a lower friction coefficient and far less stiction than aluminum, filters, especially high-quality filters with brass frames, have a much lower tendency to get stuck on a brass adapter. It's machined precisely all the way around, with what appear to be tight tolerances. The coloring is excellent, and the edge has been knurled for added grip when handling. Because brass is much heavier than aluminum, it weighs significantly more than the competition in this price range. br>br>When it comes to price, this adapter is a great deal because it's a well-made brass adapter that costs less than half as much as the competition's "pro" adapters.
I have a less expensive ring that, while lighter in weight, has threads that strip easily, and I frequently have trouble removing my filter from it! br>br>This guy is dependable, safe, and professional. feeling. Get it!.
Brass is a concept that I adore.
The quality of luzid brass rings is comparable to that of high-end brands. Try these out if you want to save money. The threads are silky smooth and do not bind in the same way that some less expensive filters do.
I prefer brass to other materials for these connections. It's quite effective.
