For laser focusing, I bought the filter because it blocks both red and infrared light. I was able to focus the laser to a fine point with this as the red light bleed in the spectrum had been It works great for my blue diode laser, but I don't use it for my camera.
I'm not sure why I purchased it. You won't be able to use it unless you have an analog film camera. It's just a shiny object that shutter bugs like me will drool over.
Trying to make it work with my full spectrum camera had no luck. I went back to using my older filter.
When I took a picture of evergreen trees outside my house, I made it look like they had snow on them when in fact they I could accomplish that using the Photos program on my Mac by taking a photo with a lens that had an infrared filter on it and importing it into the Photos program.
Wow! It's a weird effect! The filter seems to be very well made. This is a fun app to use. There are so many great filters out there, but I never knew about them. They permit me to take photos at a whole new level!.
I like the way it fits and works. The price is excellent.
