In order to unscrew the eyepiece, I had been doing some long exposure photography with the viewfinder closed. As a result, the eyepiece fell off somewhere and I lost it. I purchased this eyepiece to replace the one I lost. It works just as well Invest in Nikon products of the highest quality.
