Questions & Answers

There are no holes for two dowels in Sony A7iii In that case, how would that work?

It fits the hole on the bottom of the A7III. It also has a second access hole where a tripod plate or a strap can be attached. I only have one complaint you have to take the cover half off in order to perform a battery change. I prefer it to the Sony one.

The door to the battery is blocked, right?

I regret to inform you that the battery door is blocked.

What is the compatibility of this with ?

The answer is yes, I believe. As far as I know, I no longer use mine, but I did use it on the A7S2 and A7R3.

Could this be used on a Sony A7M3 with a hand strap?

To attach my hand strap to the camera body, I either put it in the tripod attachment hole or on the clip attachments on the sides.

It fits my needs, it is better than my main competitor, but there are As such, one of the main reasons I looked at this product was to add a helpful grip portion to my right finger in order to make it easier for me to hold my The pros are (It adds grip) It does a good job at that
4/5

It also comes with a plate that is compatible with the Arca Swiss camera, which has skeletonized looking holes so that you can also attach your peak design anchor links. So that my peak design strap is able to balance out the camera so that the lens points downward and out of the way, I can put my anchor links through. The cons are Sadly, the actual grippy material used where your pinky rests is not as comfortable as that of the main competitor to it, the Lennon LB3. I purchased the Lennon, and that right hand/pinky piece is so good. Featuring a softer rubbery material that provides more cushioning. The surface of this one is texturized like plastic. A second downside of this grip is that there is no other way to access the battery compartment than to loosen the plate and remove it. With the Lennon LB3, a button on the bottom is used to release the grip portion that covers the battery, making it easy to reach the battery without having to unscrew or loosen the grip. There is also one minor con, namely that the arca swiss portion of the plate has a coating on it that scratches very The camera is on my tripod for the first time, but already I see some scratches. I am confident that the Lennon metal plate will not scratch as easily since it appears glossy/more durable. In the end, I returned the Lennon LB3 and kept the Meike only because the LB3 plate was just too big for me, so I ended up returning it. This is a very large screen, much bigger than the entire bottom I find the corners of the plate to be sharp and hard. So much so that when I hold the camera with my left hand on the lens barrel and my right hand on the grip, the corner of the plate digs into my palm, defeating its whole purpose. Due to the smaller plate on the Meike, the left hand rests on the corner of the actual camera when holding a lens, which is more rounded and less painful than the plate on the Nikon.
This does not seem to be an issue for some people. This Meike would be better suited to people who don't have pinky grips or want to access the battery door. It would also be less likely to scratch the tripod plate if it were the Lennon.

Because this has a dovetail mounting plate with an , it is not only a cheaper copy of GPX1EM, but it is actually better than that
4/5

I have been waiting for a third party to make a cheaper version of GPX1EM for so long and finally it has come out. There is a difference between this and the GPX1EM in that it has a dovetail mounting plate with an extra 1/4' screw hole for a universal tripod plate, making it better in many ways. I have a Sony A7ii and Sony A7Riii and the lens fits perfectly. - (I am fairly certain this will work perfectly in the In terms of first generation, not sure what to make of it. It's tightened with a hex wrench or a coin, so you need a hex wrench to take it apart.

I almost returned the grip, but I was able to fix it! The wrist strap I am using cannot be connected to the neckstrap ends on my OP/TECH watch while the wrist straps are connected to the watch
4/5

Take a look at the photographs and you'll see that I drilled some holes at the end of the Aluminum Grip carefully. After I smoothed out the slot with a small Dremmel tool, I added the paint. It's also possible to wrap a web strap around the shutter button on the opposite side of the grip, so it works perfectly. Keep in mind that it does not fix the issue of changing the battery, you still need to loosen the 1/4-inch nut. Rotate the battery door and mount a 20mm mounting screw so that you can rotate the grip. While I'm sure I voided the warranty, I live on the edge, so I don't see that as an issue. In the end I was on the verge of returning it, but then I loved.

This is a better version than that of Sony
4/5

There are four other extended grips I've ordered, including a Sony and a battery pack version. Although I really enjoyed working with the Sony battery pack grip, it was too bulky for my needs and did not permit me to use touch to focus, which I enjoy when I don't have to use eye gaze. Furthermore, there is also the Lennox grip which allows access to the battery, which is very valuable, but it does not look as good as the Meke grip nor is it aligned nearly as well as it should be. Despite this, the other grips did not look as good as the meke grip. After 2 turns from the Allen / any coin you can turn the battery out of the way and get at the battery. Looks and fits just like the Sony grip, though the quick release function takes it one step further.

Fits perfectly and makes the camera way more comfortable to hold, which is why it lives in the camera as a nearly permanent fixture. Now that such a device is available, there is no reason to ever complain about Sonys being too small to grip. It's no big deal if the door doesn't have batteries- If you want to switch batteries, you can charge the battery in the camera, and when you do, you can remove the battery by using a coin or key for about 10 seconds. This is the only time I don't use this, We shot a ballet performance during the day for 4 hours with the camera at least half the time in vertical position. I found that to be a real lifesaver! A great feature of this arc is the built-in Plates of the same type are also available. A hole had to be routed out in the bottom to clear the locking pin on the tripod receiver plate, but it was a simple process. Now, there's always a plate attached to the tripod in case it needs to be used quickly. it doesn't work with my Manfrotto tripod, as its arc is square (4 sided) (but there is also a place to link that to the bottom, so by no means is this a deal breaker. ) I've been loving it so far and would replace it the next day if it were lost.

Significantly improved how well it handled the My order arrived a day before our visit to tour the mansions in Newport, Rhode Island, and I was delighted with it
5/5

In addition, I had attached a Meike grip to my newly acquired Sony A7III. It took me a while to get used to this group extension as I did not know if it would be beneficial, but the more I shot, the more I felt how this helped stabilize the A7iii with a fairly heavy 16-inch lens This 35mm lens has a wide field of view. For vertical, portrait orientation shots, a full battery grip doesn't provide as much comfort as a thin grip, but it also is not as large or bulky.

In terms of those who are concerned about removing the grip for battery changes, it depends on what type of battery your camera uses. In my A7iiii, I shot over 300 frames with the new Z100 battery, and I ended up with 57% of the battery My plan to take older Sony full frame bodies with "F" style batteries into the field would be reconsidered if I was using it. All in all, the Meike grip can make a world of difference in shooting comfort. Would highly recommend!.
