It accomplishes what it is supposed to. There is no charge with this cable since it is a transfer You connect your yellow bordered a/v out onto the yellow border on the camera if you have the Coolpix L840 like me. Do not try to attach the HDMI cable to it because it won't fit and you won't know how to attach it so you'll Connect the cable to the AV out of the camera and the other end to the USB port on the laptop, then select the transfer files option.
I lost the original cable, so this one is what I bought. Buying from this seller was a very positive experience. The product works like a charm and was delivered quickly.
During my photo transfer, I used it to download pictures from my camera to my laptop. A cord I had lost had been found.
