When it first started, it didn't. Nevertheless, I discovered that the ridge at the base of the connector (metal end) was preventing the plug from being fully inserted. A sharp knife was used to cut the ridge off. Having now successfully paired it with my camera, everything seems to be working as intended. My cable did not have to be returned since I was able to figure it out without having to return it. It may be of help to others with the same problem.
Cable of high quality, it can be modified very little so that it still works well. As soon as I got this cable, it would not connect my camera to the cable until I read some reviews and realized that there is too much material around the connector that connects to cameras for this cable to make a complete connection. A razor helped me cut off some material, then the printer worked like a charm. Consequently, the cable on some Olympus cameras may not be compatible.
