This charger does the same job you would expect from a Canon charger and charges at about the same time. The battery has a tendency to fall out of the charger if the charger is not placed in a way that allows the battery to be held in place by gravity. In this respect, the Canon charger is much better. There is an incredibly high failure rate for the chargers Canon sells for this battery. Since May 2017, I've been using SterlingTEK batteries in my 5D Mark III. There were 4 batteries and 2 travel chargers in total that I purchased. My battery has lost its charge right away after being plugged in. I recall that it was within a few months of having them, and it was clearly an issue with the batteries. This charger and two batteries are part of my Canon 7D purchase. I charge my batteries faster with the charger that came with the camera than I do with my Canon batteries. Though I have only used it twice, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I've had the charger for just a couple of months and it's worked flawlessly both times. I am not sure about the longevity, but it's well made and well thought out.

I had a great experience with the STK. A camera that had lain dormant for a couple of years was given to me by my sister. It appears that she lost her battery charger somewhere during the process. The STK caught my attention after I did some research, and I figured I would give it a try when compared to the great deal more expensive "Official" charger. I must say, it worked perfectly. I was able to start taking photos after charging the battery a couple of hours before. No big deal. My new charger is working well, it is reasonably priced, and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a replacement.
