Questions & Answers

Is there a Wall Charger included for power charging?

There is only a USB cord and no household plug.

Is it possible to use this with the Hero 2018?

Yes, because the new HERO uses the same battery as the HERO5 Black and HERO6 Black cameras, the Dual Battery Charger will also work with the HERO.

Is it possible to connect the camera and the cable directly?

Yes, the included USB cable is the same as the one that came with your computer. The GoPro camera includes a type C cable. If you prefer, you can charge the battery while it is still in the camera with this cable, just as you would with your original cable.

Can I use a car adapter to charge it?

Yes, all USB type A ports will charge the device. The charging speed, on the other hand, is determined by which charging profiles the USB car charger supports. The fast charge profile for GoPro can be found by looking at the company's own wall Super Charger, which provides stepped charging at a rate of 5. 5V 3A 1V 3A 1V 3A 1V 3A 1V 3A 1V 3 5V 3A and 12V 1A are the two voltages that can be used. 67A. To put it another way, a car charger might advertise "60 watts" but only output 5 volts at 1 amp after the "handshake" with a dual charger. Trickle charging at 5 watts takes two hours to complete. 4 hours or more is the minimum amount of time required. Make sure to charge your GoPro with the GoPro charging cable. Using a different cable, such as a phone cable, can significantly lengthen or prevent charging. Using a properly functioning non-rechargeable battery should cause no harm to the dual charger. Charge times may be longer when using GoPro chargers.

For what it's worth (pun intended), I paid $15 on Amazon for a spare GoPro brand battery
3/5

That means this tiny charger is worth $35 in some way! Wow. I feel like a sucker because having more than one battery is required as a GoPro owner. GoPro Hero cameras do not include a battery charger; instead, they come with a charging cable for the camera's internal battery. br>br>This is, in my opinion, a rip-off. It's extremely depressing that the GoPro brand is unable to produce a good battery while also charging a high price for it. br>br>Last month, I went on a big vacation where I knew I'd be using my GoPro Hero 6 to its full potential. I purchased a spare for $16 on Amazon, then purchased the GoPro brand Battery Charger and spare battery, giving me a total of three. What a pitiful battery these are, I have to say. br>br>DRAINING THESE TAKES NO TIME AT ALL. Simply using your GoPro to change settings, look at photos, or have it on while using the app to download photos or use a remote will quickly deplete its battery. Of course, if you didn't already know, recording in higher quality and at higher frame rates on your GoPro will help drain the batteries faster. Why is this? I'm irritated because I have no freaking idea. I'd heard horror stories about GoPro cameras and batteries, so I wanted to see for myself. Some reviewers advise removing the battery from the GoPro after use because it can cause the camera to overheat and damage the Micro SD card that is in the same slot as the battery! That is irrational and unjustifiable. We spent a lot of money on GoPro cameras and accessories just to have something with the GoPro name on it. The production value is truly pitiful. Poor customer service and an app can also be described as pathetic. Although it may appear that I'm straying from the topic, mediocre technology is to blame for the battery's poor performance and the fact that I had to purchase two spares. I can attest to the fact that I used each and every one of these batteries during my vacation. br>br>GoPro's website has a lot of hints, tips, tricks, troubleshooting, and recording times vs. battery life, but in my experience, the actual battery life vs. how long GoPro claims the batteries will last is much less. They, in turn, don't seem to understand what's going on, in my opinion. They also state which SD cards are compatible with their cameras, but don't you think any Micro SD card would suffice?.

For what it is, it is far too costly
3/5

This is an average product; you'd need to spend an extra $50 on the Gopro supercharger wall brick to make it a good one (maybe). br>br>I believe Gopro should have included their wall brick instead of the battery, as the charger is incredibly slow without it. That package is worth $60 in my opinion. I'm not sure how the high ratings are possible given the pricing scheme's poor performance. It would cost $100 to purchase both the supercharger brick and this item. That is a ridiculously high price for such a small amount of product. The supercharger brick, charger, and two batteries should be included in that price range. br>br>Did I mention that without the supercharger brick, this charger is incredibly slow? I have a 3-star rating on average. It doesn't matter whether there are one or two batteries, the charging time is 4 hours. It takes a long time, and I've tried several high-end bricks that I know are high-quality, and I've used them to charge dozens of other electronics with great success. 4 hours is, in my opinion, far too long. My Gopro dual charger from the Hero 3 era takes half the time (and is nearly half the size) when using the same wall bricks. And my Hero 3 batteries are still going strong, with 100-hour cycles. With top res/fps, the game has a 110-minute runtime. 100- The film has a runtime of 110 minutes and a rating of 100 out of 100 on Rotten Tomatoe Recharging time is 110 minutes, which is ideal for two batteries and near-constant operation. You'd need three batteries in the rotation if you're using the Hero 5/6 era setup. In comparison to the Hero 3 era system for near continuous video recording, this charger is too large, charges too slowly, and forces you to buy more batteries. This set (charger and one battery) should cost around $30, in my opinion. A $60 bundle with the charger and supercharger brick but no battery is a good deal. For each additional battery, add $20 to the total. So you should be able to get the supercharger brick, this charger, and two batteries for $100. After all, if you're not near a wall outlet, the supercharge brick is useless, and you're stuck with super slow charging. Gopro missed the mark on this one, as this is an action camera designed to be used in the field without access to power. It should work great with charge packs that have two batteries. USB ports with 4A (QC, etc. ) and a 12V plug in style 2. For field use, there are 4A (QC, etc. ) USB ports, among other things. That is not the case. It's probably better to just buy more batteries rather than the Gopro charger or supercharger brick. Instead, invest in a third-party multibay charger. In the end, it will most likely be less expensive and more effective. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> I used the next wall brick, and it was the fastest of the half dozen I tried to charge. Before trying to recharge the batteries, they had to cool down. 1 battery alone started at 10% in under 2 hours. 2 batteries started at 1% took about 3 hours and 3 hours and 3 hours and 3 hours and 3 hours and 3 hours and 3% I seriously doubt that my Gopro charger is faulty, and that switching to a different wall brick will make much of a difference. Simply put, this is a very slow charger. Even when used with the Supercharger wall brick, I seriously doubt that this will charge two fully depleted batteries in less than two hours. 3 hours or so to charge two fully depleted batteries of this mAh capacity and composition is, in my opinion, poor Gopro engineering. It is no longer a problem to charge these types of batteries.

For the price, the charger should be much better; I'm keeping it because I need an external charger (and as many batteries as I can get), but the charger should be much better for the price
3/5

Two batteries that last about an hour each take three hours to charge. The charger never draws more than 0 watts, regardless of input (wall/auto charger, computer, etc. ). Despite the 3amp input capability listed on the spec sheet, the listed output is double what it's actually pulling in, indicating yet another exaggerated spec sheet listing. According to the claims, two batteries can be charged in an hour, which is ideal for running two cameras at the same time.

The only way to go is with these batteries
5/5

trust me. The hard way, as it turned out! For those who own a GoPro 6, this is a must-have accessory. In February, I went on a ski trip and used batteries from an 'aftermarket' brand. That was a colossal error on my part. Sure, they were fantastic in the room. However, as soon as they were outside in the freezing temperatures, they ceased to work. br>br>With non-GoPro batteries, don't be fooled by the hype. Only make use of genuine products. They are not costly, and they function when you require them.

The best charger for your GoPro camera
5/5

The battery charger is high-quality and lightweight. When the batteries/battery are fully charged, the status light changes to green.
