Negative post would not screw in, so I gave it a one-star rating. I read other comments and discovered that the screw on post unscrews to reveal more threads before being screwed in, and that 3/8 16 bolts should be used if charging the battery.
However, make certain to remove the bolt from the terminal, install the bolt, and then reinstall the terminal onto the bolt. br>I had to do it this way on my battery to make sure there was enough "meat" from the bolt inside the thread. br>Make sure it's TIGHT (NOT OVERTIGHT); I used a spring washer between the terminal and the battery to keep the connection from coming loose. Nothing is more frustrating than driving down the road and having your car die due to a lost connection.
UPDATE: I had no idea that before you install a screw, you can turn it to adjust the length of the threads. As a result, they have no value! Disappointed in general, but especially coming from Coleman Cable, a company known for its excellent extension cords.
For the money, it's a good buy. If you spend more money, I'm sure you'll find one that is better. It does its job well and should last a long time because it is lightweight.
These Side Terminal Battery Posts were purchased to go with my battery charger. When trying to charge a side post battery, side terminal battery posts are required because the clamps have nowhere to grip. Anyway, these work fine, but the threading moves around freely, which is inconvenient because you need to get half of the threading into the battery and the other half into the post for the post to stay on the battery. I'd look for a hard-mounted threaded Side Terminal Battery Post. br>br>RDE RDE RDE RDE RDE RDE RDE RDE RDE RDE RDE.
Following the loss of a vehicle, I needed to convert a side post battery to a top post, and these were perfect. Because the screw is adjustable, you can unscrew it until it fits your post. It works perfectly and I was up and running in less than 5 minutes. It's been about a year, and there hasn't been any corrosion or anything like that.
This allowed me to remove my old side terminal battery and give it to a neighbor in need of a regular terminal battery. It was a little tricky stretching the cables over, and you should measure before you do it, but since he was broke, it was better than nothing.
Aluminum alloy was used to create this piece. The stud is made of steel, and the screws are held in place by screws.
