Wrap the contents in heat. Wrap the tube in shrink wrap. This is the only other option I can come up with. Some of that plastic wire cover might be left behind.
It is not necessary to touch any wires. Make sure you tighten screws very tightly. I always locate mine so they can't move around.

It worked exactly as it should, I was extending a ground wire Wrap it in heat shrink foil, then seal it with.
The exact thing I was looking for. My ground wire for the negative side of my battery was a bit short. By wrapping it in electrical tape, I was able to make it work.
It's hard to beat these when it comes to extreme duty. I strongly urge you to buy these as they are extremely solid and overbuilt. This was used to extend the battery in the car and was wrapped in heat shrink tubing of sufficient size, Very professional product that I have no doubt will perform flawlessly in the future.
I am much happier with the results than I expected. The battery-to-power line was thus elminated, saving me from having to install a new power line. Four gauges to four gauges. Insulating it was done with a 1 inch diameter cut of heatshrink.
This worked for coupling the wire. This needs to be insulated if it is going to be used for power cable! Although the ground need not be insulated, it is best to keep it insulated to keep noise at a minimum. I would have given it 5 stars if it were.

My Honda Pioneer was equipped with these cables for extending the secondary battery cable. In spite of the tough Alaskan hunting season, I am still able to use them and they perform well.
This gave me the option to attach a longer cable to my amplifier, and now it works perfectly. There is no crackling or anything like that. Wrap it in electrical tape and you're good to go.
