I really liked how well it fit the 4 ga end, and how well the 8 ga end fit into the amp terminal. In any case. There was a tight fit on the set screw and it would not thread back in. It turned out that I had to drill a small hole on the flat side of the piece to fit the set screw.
In my case, I tried using a 4 gauge ground wire since I was monitoring current draw with a ground shunt bar, but the 8 gauge side could not fit in the terminal that could accept an 8 gauge wire. I therefore could not use the 4 gauge ground wire. In order to fit the amp, I had to trim the 4 gauge wire down. Other than the issue of it not fitting in the amp, the product appears to be of good quality.
Due to the shape of the insert, I had to remove everything from my amp before I could tighten it down. Poor design choice.
At the moment, my system is only 600W RMS, which means there is no need to check for anything fancy, such as copper reducers. In my case, this product eliminates wire trimming because I have an amp that does not make use of 4GA wires. I should have bought this.
The amp I tested would not take larger power (and ground), so the amp I used worked fine. It would have been nice to see the screw push a part of the internal collar, so that the screw is not tightened to just a small section on the cable. The clamping process.
The item was shipped quickly as well.
I found it to be on time and effective for my needs.
I stripped the screw on the first try. Did not use them at all.
