I'm kicking myself for buying something I didn't need. This is a purchase that I deeply regret. If your battery top isn't completely flat, you shouldn't buy this. This tightens onto the post from the opposite side of the amplifier outputs and clockwise from the post connection, making it impossible to get it completely tight without modifying some Alan keys to be stubby. br>br>The 4ga connector will not fit a CCA 4ga wire; it barely fits OFC 4 ga and still leaves stragglers that must be trimmed because it is too tight. The polarity symbol is on the bottom or covered on the post side once cables are in if you plan on leaving off the cheap-looking covers. br>br>Both post connectors were labeled br>br>1 of the posts was not cleanly threaded and would have been impossible to install without first fixing it. br>br>The positive and negative are the same part, not mirrored, so your install will look stupid when you're done. br>br>The amp wires tighten from the bottom so you have to remove the entire assembly to disconnect an amp. br>br> br>br>With the exception of the pooly threaded post, the build quality appears to be good, but almost everything else is terrible.
Great product that is simple to install and appears to be quite long-lasting. I removed one start because I would have preferred to see the positive and negative sides mirrored; for example, in my photo, the OEM cable is on the far side of the battery, but on the positive side, it is near the middle. Apart from that, they're fantastic. When I've had them for a while, I'll post an update.
This is a fantastic idea that is both practical and applicable to a wide range of people. Regrettably, the application isn't up to par. Have you ever gotten a small trinket that was significantly more expensive than it should have been, but you could see why once you had it in your hands? Beautiful lines, well-thought-out, and executed flawlessly. That isn't the case with these! It's a brilliant concept executed in the Chinese style, but it's tainted by low cost. Laziness, for example. This product is a fantastic idea, but it has the potential to command a high price, doesn't it? However, it has a sloppy appearance, with uneven angles, mass production with poor quality control, and just plain laziness in engineering. You don't get a positive and a negative; you only get two options, both of which are identical. It doesn't seem like much until you try to use them and realize how sloppy they were while making them. One side appears to be fantastic, while the other appears to be rather uninteresting. Isn't it just looking backwards? Also, you have to remove the battery to get to the set screws for the aux wires, and the screws are on the bottom? Who in their right mind thinks that's a good idea? When installing the battery, it was also surprisingly difficult to locate the battery post; I had to stick my finger under it to feel for it; it's not in a logical location, i suppose? Perhaps the fact that it was getting dark on me played a role. You'll see that the covers are just as bad. br>This product could have been a five-star product, but the carelessness with which it was produced is insulting. It will still function properly; however, you will not enjoy it. I got the impression that these were made by someone who was proud of their work, but that's obviously not the case. Expect typical Chinese quality that, for the most part, does what it says on the tin. br>You won't be saying things like, "Wow, these are incredible!" "br>THEY COULD HAVE HAD SO MUCH IMPACT!.
For weeks, I looked and looked for the nicest, most overbuilt off-the-shelf terminal I could find. This is the decision I made. Nothing else, in my opinion, can compare. They're extremely well made, and I always keep a pair on hand in my shop just in case. I recommend these to anyone I know who suspects their vehicle may be experiencing a power or ground problem. I usually order two sets because I want to install the second set on a friend's or family member's car. If there's a voltage problem, you'll know it's not the terminals after you install these. Remember to use dielectric grease!.
Let's start with the positives: br>Terminals are substantial, with a well-polished exterior. Since installing these, as well as a Big 3 and a Mechman alternator, the car has been running perfectly. The various gauge holes are practical and versatile, and the aesthetics of the battery area have been greatly improved, as shown in the photo. br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of drawbacks to using this method. Similarly, the inside area of the terminals is poorly finished, and I ended up causing a minor dent on the battery post when a rough edge inside the positive terminal made contact with the post; similarly, the covers are made of inexpensive vinyl, and I can't see them lasting that long in their environment, as other reviewers have mentioned. In addition, for secure tightening, the terminals must be fully seated, which in my case necessitated removing the battery tray. br>I would have preferred two 1/0 gauge receiving holes rather than one 1/0 and one 4 gauge; the one 8 gauge hole appears to be of limited utility to me, especially for big three upgrades. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, but I must point out that some of the most common complaints voiced by other users of this product are listed below.
Before they can be installed, they must be deburred and cleaned. br>br>I haven't installed it yet, but due to a lack of options, I'll attempt to make it work. br>br>From the machining process, there are several large burrs left. There are numerous sharp edges. I'd expect much better machining processes after machining for a $40 set of terminals. That leaves me feeling very unsatisfied. In addition, there appears to be corrosion within the aux wire ports. For the money I paid, I shouldn't have to deburr the part, let alone clean out corrosion. br>br>Edited, don't buy. These are of poor quality; the threads inside have been improperly tapped and do not function.
