This review received a 4-star rating. Listed below are the reasons. The review is similar to other reviews. During my comparison of the 1030 edge with my 1030 edge, I found the plastic spring tabs that secure my Garmin to the mount to be on the weak side. On the other hand, I managed to lock in pretty well on my 520 edge. It is possible to fix this problem by placing thin pieces of foam (1/16 of an inch or less in By doing this, you can lock the Garmin in better, and the tabs will stay up. As an addition, I enlarged the hole just enough to accommodate the Allen wrench while the plastic insert was being The mounting bracket is able to line up with the bars much more easily this way. I am happy with the outcome. We had a fairly rough ride, and we never had a problem with the 1030 edge.
I have a 45mm stem as well. It is also not visible beyond the bars of the 1030. It would be next to impossible for my knees to touch my Garmin. As they were made from the beginning, I believe they should have been done from the beginning. I'm happy with the results.
A plastic insert that fits over the tightening screw must be put on after the headset has been tightened. As soon as the headset is tightened, it is impossible to rotate the plastic insert so your GPS is pointing The plastic insert has a hole through it, but why didn't they leave a hole for a hex wrench to go through it?.
Installing the mount is straightforward, but you need to adjust it to align it. A few minutes are all that it takes to set it up. One issue I encountered is the location is now further rearward than I thought it would be. It is possible for this to be a problem depending on how your bike is set up and your riding style. My Garmin device has been placed more forward over the handlebar because I have been riding with them for many years. The fit and finish of this K-model are excellent, so I might switch Over the top cap instead of the edge, this mounts to the handlebar.
To test the stability of my Garmin 1000, I bought one of these. As good as it is, it is difficult to believe that it is built on the same planet as the Garmin mount. I would like to take Garmin to task for selling a $500 piece of equipment with an $8 price tag. Mount 02 is an open.
There is a Kona and a Santa Cruz, one high end, one mid range). bike has a similar screw so I was able to use the mount. I did not encounter any issues on the first ride after installing the mount.
The Chinese copy is 0 copies. A Chinese copy that crashed in a minor crash has been replaced. The mounting bolt permits access to a much larger, thicker star-shaped bolt that is about two times the thickness of the standard bolt. If you can afford it, you should buy the original.
There are no instructions on how to install this thing. In order to use the (1) damn bolt, you have to remove several screws. If you have a different set up, you're out of luck.
