The majority of the time A receiver connected to the Nuvi 360 is barely worth the price
3/5

Below are comments on that receiver. It hooks up to the USB port on the right side of the 360. Unfortunately, the usb connector is attached to the body of the receiver, so it extends out the back of the Nuvi, bumping into the dashboard (I have mounted the Nuvi on the dashboard). My area (SF Bay Area) actually gets traffic information via this app. There is a slow update rate There are a lot of times when the traffic report says there is heavy traffic, but I found it to be very light (i. e. Rush hour for the day ended hours after rush hour for that day ended). In comparison with a Nuvi 660, The Nuvi 360 offers a drastically different experience in terms of the interface and overall satisfaction with the traffic receiver. On your Nuvi, you will see a yellow diamond that tells you there are cars on the road you are currently There is a solid diamond as the symbol There are some menu options you must push to get there if you would like to know if there is an accident or if the traffic is just slow. You can tell what the problem in the diamond is by looking at the icon on the Nuvi 660. A more aggressive radar system in the Nuvi 660 will give a more accurate re-targeting You will be routed dynamically as things develop. The series has never been re-released Using the Nuvi 360, you can find your route. There's an exclusion of expressways and busy surface streets from coverage. Major freeways are covered. You may find the traffic information useful if your commute involves a major freeway. A different scenario might not be possible. In the end, this add-on is something I would recommend to folks who possess a Nuvi 360 but want traffic data. As the only practical option, and as long as you don't mind its limited coverage, it may still be worth your money, but, probably not by much. For those of you who are looking for a new GPS and definitely want traffic coverage, the Nuvi 660 or 680 is an excellent choice. In addition, you save somewhere between $100 and $150 over the 660 - and the traffic receiver is integrated into the car power cord, so you won't have to worry about a second cable.

You can only make it as good as Clear Channel allows you to
4/5

As soon as I received my Garmin C340 GPS receiver I purchased this item in the hope that it might assist in navigating Atlanta's congested traffic. I like the program in general I have avoided some major traffic jams in and around Atlanta using it. I plugged it in to my Garmin in less than a minute and my Garmin loaded the broadcast traffic events onto my GPS and recalculated any routes I had planned in the severely impacted area To avoid them, routes are automatically generated. This is a very useful In that case, I have only one complaint, which is not with the device, but rather with Clear Channel Communication's Traffic Management Service, which broadcasts Whenever data is uploaded to their network, it seems to take a little while. Though I understand that this is a relatively new service, they still need to work on updating their information and using all the traffic data currently at their disposal. For a fee of $60 a year, you can use it for the next 15 months after that. that in the next 15 months they improve the quality of the data that is provided to the GPS so that it can work efficiently.

Maybe I will hit traffic before I get to the airport
3/5

It is a pleasure to live in the Washington. I'm in the Washington, DC area. We have terrible When I take a route that doesn't have extreme congestion but is not exceptionally bad, I usually take it. It does not give me any warnings. As well, o ne time there was a smaller side road (Non A highway but a well used road), that was closed on both directions without any message or information. Although the antenna works, the traffic information on Clear Channels is kind of terrible. The worst.

Sucks a lot. I can only get traffic information from the main interstates when I check the traffic information. Don't buy this if you want to do yourself a favor. There is a chance that XM shows better traffic, but all I can say with complete honesty is that Clear Channel makes a terrible traffic service. I probably will get some traffic information while taking the I-95 I read somewhere that 95 is the number. This is not a professional article, but it is the.

Not always useful, but cool to look at
3/5

In addition to living in Atlanta, I have also reviewed this book. It can be a nightmare to navigate through the traffic in our area, so I had high hopes for this add-on for Between 3 p. m. and 7 p. m. every day After 7 p. m. and at 00 p. m. Around 00pm, my Nuvi tells me "TRAFFIC AHEAD", which I find to be useful. The traffic in Atlanta in the afternoon is always backed up, but everyone knows that. Upon consulting the GPS screen, information such as "accumulating traffic" and "slow traffic" can be seen It may always be true in a city like this, so it isn't all that helpful. Despite the warning, I assume I would travel that way anyway, even if the Nuvi would route me away from the expressway. When unusual traffic events happen late at night and at the weekend, it will be of more use. We would find the service more useful if it were updated more frequently and provided more detailed information. Until further notice, here is the January 26, 2007 Update Since I began paying attention, I have noticed the traffic add-on is improving the detail it gives. As opposed to the vague 'slow' and 'accumulating' messages I had seen during the past few months, I see more information on accidents and incidents. My opinion of the service has improved recently, and perhaps it is just a coincidence.

Driving around traffic is made easier with this great tool
5/5

was a bit hard to figure out at first that the power cable connected to the GPS stand at the back, but once I figured it out, the traffic receiver was working The application lets users know where traffic is and what times it is expected If there is traffic in your path, you will receive an alert. So far, I have tried the "AVOID" traffic option and it has worked fairly well. The least I can do is to know what lies ahead Despite the fact that I haven't tested the "AVOID" feature completely, I have an idea of what to expect. The driver almost sent me over the Bay Bridge during rush hour a couple of times We all know what would have happened if that had happened. The crossing had not yet taken place, but I was able to exit before it did.
