I'm not sure how to phrase this. There is a model I have that is different. The last time I bought mine was many years ago and it worked. I still have no issues with it.

There are no bridges on my route. As part of my job, I use this. The route I take is in Detroit, so I have to disconnect the device at each stop and hide it so that It has been about a year since I bought the cable and it has frayed at the connection by the device. I am about to have to buy another one since this is my second It will probably last a long time if you don't need to disconnect it often, but if you find yourself doing so frequently, it will probably last a year or two.

It works great on the new one

I plugged this cord into the fitting on the side of the console because it is a long cord. It was someone who got out of my car and accidentally pulled the other end out of My eyes were closed and I drove away without seeing it. The one that connects to the Tomtom piece was ground off. It works great on the new one.

Initially, the charger only worked intermittently for us, but that could just as easily have been the charger itself acting up. I've tested both Tom Toms and they both work fine now.
