Update: br>I ordered another one just in case I needed it. It's been over a year since I ordered it, and today was the second time I've used it. I've been using the first one I purchased for quite some time now. One of the metal power leads broke off during the installation of the batteries. It's no longer useful. I'll try to correct it, but this shouldn't happen after just one use. After so much use, I've come to the conclusion that they aren't nearly as good as I had hoped. However, having one of these is preferable to having none at all. Get a new battery if you can afford it. If not, I suppose it's all right. Original review: br>br> This outperforms my old Lithium battery by a long shot! I believe everyone should have one of these while using the GPS because they are so inexpensive. At the very least, it will serve as a back-up. br>br>I strongly advise you to do so!.
The term "battery pack" is misleading because there are no batteries in this product; it is simply a battery holder. Amazon was also duped by the deceptive advertising, as the package was labeled with hazardous waste battery labels all over it.
This battery was purchased to replace my original lithium ion battery. The lithium ion battery stopped holding a charge, and because they're so expensive, I decided to try this as an alternative. I'm very happy with it; it's a great idea and a low-cost alternative to replacing the original lithium ion battery.
It performs as expected. Although I believe the price should be lower, a Garmin-branded accessory will undoubtedly cost more than it should, which is not the fault of the seller.
The connections are a little different, as you can see in the photo. It claims to work with 530hcx models, but it does not, as mine will not turn on.
thanks.
I should've bought one a long time ago!.
It accomplishes the task at hand. However, I can see how it could be easily broken.
