Questions & Answers

What about my Canon T3i? Can I connect this to it? Will this work in a large crowd or at an event? A large outdoors event may be a good opportunity for an interview. ?

You should be able to use it just fine. When I've been in crowds for an interview, I've used it. Don't forget to pick up a mic 10 A distance of 12 inches between the speaker and the listener is recommended. To make sure I had the mic close enough to me, I wore headphones. Mics like this are very good. In spite of the third answer below, I do agree with the first answer, a H4N will sound better than a 1/8 jack adaptor with the mic and the T3I.

Could you use this microphone to capture Facebook Live stories on an iPhone?

You would need a converter cable if you needed to use xlr inputs. The possibility does exist, but it may not be evident at first

Is it possible to connect the Rhode microphone to the Canon 70D? If so, what additional part do I need to connect the microphone?

As for the Rode Reporter Mic, I have no idea whether it will work on the Canon 70D. A XLR cable is used and I did not see a connection like that on your photos. Using a Zoom H4N digital recorder, I connect my Rode to a Zoom. I think a shotgun mic would be suited to your needs more than a digital recorder, but if you could connect a recorder to your camera, it might work.

Could you please explain to me what cable I need to connect this to the sony AX6400?

The female connector of the XLR is connected to the 3 pins. A male connector with a 5mm diameter

Selected User Reviews For Rode Reporter Omnidirectional Dynamic Interview Microphone

This is a must-have for any interviewer who works with YouTubers
5/5

There's no better interviewer microphone than this one. There is a built-in wind screen on this device, so you will actually be able to record an interview in a very noisy room, taking the background noise out of the picture, and hearing the interview as clear as What an amazing experience. This product is able to stand up to all claims made by the manufacturer. Since I am a professional YouTuber, I use this mic during all of my interviews. There has never been a time when it has There has never been a single day when it failed to rain, sleet or snow. This mic is comparable to the $700 condenser studio mic I own. There is a YouTube channel (BlackDragonNationalPresident) where you can see numerous interviews I have conducted with the dragon.

It sounds great, thanks
4/5

The flag got a star for being gimmicky. As a result, most of the time, this mic stays in my camcorder bag especially when background noise levels are high (for example, in an outdoor stadium during a football tailgate, or outside of a rock concert). One thing that really gets me is why Rode put that stupid mic flag in. Put a nice CBS logo from the 60s on there if you want to go for the retro look when interviewing a Beatles cover band. In any case, you should get a 4 or 5 sided flag instead. For the logo, I printed a glossy black logo on a white base and used a cheap plastic one that I found here. Please take note of the following Mic shaft diameter is narrower than most handheld dynamic mics, so it may be necessary for you to wrap the mic flag around the shaft to keep it attached. In all other respects, this works well.

This is a very good run-and-play microphone for the price During the interview, I'll be holding a gun
4/5

The microphone I use for trade show interviews has been amazing. The price is reasonable, and the quality is I was able to isolate the voices of the interviewer and the subject with this device. It picks up enough environmental noise that the interview doesn't sound sterile, but I would have liked it to pick The weatherproof cover has proven to be very durable after being used for 18 months in sometimes rugged conditions. In addition, the included microphone flag is ugly and useless in my case. It's not likely to be used much, in my opinion. It would have been much better if Rode had added some It would have been a much more useful accessory if it had been made of that. However, although there are microphones that sound better, the ones I know cost at least twice the price of The price and features make it a good purchase for running Interviews with guns and ammunition.

I regret to inform you that the machine has died
3/5

We're sorry to hear that. I found the microphone to be very good, but it was no longer working. The goods we send come from Costa Rica and we send them all through freight forwarders, so we do not have the option to return anything. I do not think it's justified to spend almost $200 (including freight and import costs) on a defective microphone. I just wanted to let you know that this is made.

I am disappointed
3/5

This mic has a good sound but is not spectacular. When I used it on my H2N Zoom, I compared it with a $21 microphone, and the $21 microphone had a much better sound. was able to get a better sound from the Zoom H6 using There is a bit of a muffled sound on the Rode. Adding bass with Adobe Audition was one of the things I had to do in order for it to sound good. However, there is not a lot I could do to make it sound good. I had used a cheap microphone (a $21 china import) which wasn't as robustly designed as the Rode, but which had a more solid sound and bass - almost like a studio mic. As for this microphone, it is incredibly sturdy and doesn't crack when moved around in any way.

The mic is really good! This mic is awesome! Despite its small size, this camera looks great in your hand
5/5

The built-in wind cut feature is so good, you can be standing outside on a windy day without hearing anything. The sound quality is top notch and the microphone picks up wind when you blow hard into it. That being said, you must blow pretty hard into it to hear wind. Basically, it's an excellent interview microphone, especially when you forget to angle your cardioid mic toward your subject. It's long enough that you can attach a mic flag on it since the top mounted flag it comes with is a little awkward to use. My preferred setup is to use this mic with a Sennheiser SKP 100 G3 plug - A fantastic sound is heard on the transmitter. It is the best purchase I have ever made!.

I like this mic a lot for the price because it is The price, the fact that it does not require phantom power, and the fact that it is a plug-and-play microphone for my iPhone X were the reasons I chose this mic
5/5

A female XLR cable on one end and a lightning cable on the other end are required for use with smart phones. If you get a cable that is 10' to 15' long, it will do the trick. It is important to note that whether the video or audio in the video I provided was not post-produced. I took this picture on my iPhone and uploaded it to Facebook right away.

This is the best handheld microphone I have ever Interviews are a common part of my work as a video producer
5/5

Boom microphones are often used when we need a wireless microphone. I am amazed by this microphone. The interview audio is always clear and background sound is minimal even while traffic is moving behind or helicopters flying overhead. I have conducted interviews in event halls and even with traffic moving behind or helicopters flying over. This is what a professional audio guy from the local TV station compared with his Shure system and said he would like to replace it with this one.
