Getting the most bang for the buck is a great idea. You should not have connectors oriented in any direction. A bass drum or other noise-reduction device would be pretty much useless). When dealing with very loud drums like the D-35, handling SPL is not an issue whatsoever. 40, though, AKG really missed a trick with the XLR connection orientation they gave this mic. This mic won't work with an XLR connector that is 90 degrees unless it is okay with the body of the connector sticking out at a weird A Neutrik 90-degree xlr can be used to align the cable with the mic body, but it will not lock in this position, so it will not work most of the time. I think that kind of defeats the purpose of having a nice, short microphone.

I have the perfect As long as you use it for a guitar combo with 40 watts, it is fine. I recommend it.
Excellent product I will recommend it 100%
I think the presentation is good, the price is fair. In every AKG product there is a sense of quality. It is a pleasure to work with you.
The mic I use is currently used for my podcasts, of which I have three coming up. It is a delight to be able to use AKG products and am looking forward to hearing about some more podcast mic options as they are considered instrument mics and Nevertheless, with a bit of EQ and training, they can be used well for voices as well, and are comparable.
