Questions & Answers

Is it possible that a Blue Encore 200 would fit in this mount? Thank you very much. ?

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing it's a tight fit on my KMS 105.

Is it possible to mount a Shure pga48 with an on/off switch and still have easy access to the switch?

The shure microphone company can be reached by phone or email.

Is a Superlux S502 going to fit in here?

This does not seem to work well with a Superlux S502. It's made to fit a Shure microphone stand.

For the Shure SM57, this is a good mic shock
5/5

It's a good match for the windscreen. I was hesitant to order because I read a review where someone said it didn't fit. After a closer look at the photo, it appears that the customer is using a phony Shure microphone. Overall, I think the product is good; I haven't had any negative experiences with it, and it was simple to set up. If you have the large windscreen filter on your shure sm57, it will also fit perfectly.

Exceptional Low-Cost Shock Mount with a Profile This shock mount is nothing short of incredible
5/5

It's what I use with my SM57 and SM58 microphones. I had previously made use of.

Buyer beware: this item does not fit all of the models listed
3/5

Despite the fact that it is listed on the package, this holder does not fit the Sm58 microphone. This only applies to small microphones; it does not apply to models with a larger diameter. As you can see from the photo, this will not fit the Mic's shaft, and I took it to make sure the model was visible.

This is a no-brainer
5/5

I'm not sure why one of these isn't installed on every 58. They offer excellent protection against most bumps and handling jolts from microphone stands. Unless, for video purposes, their size appears to be a little too much on the mic stand. For my 57s, KSM137s, and SM81s, I switch to the other model. It's preferable to deal with avoidable audio intrusions at the source rather than spending endless hours in post-production trying to get rid of the sound. When removing artifacts in post, you always lose something, so it's best to start with clean audio. Each of my Shure microphones has one of these.

Mine appears to be deflated or insufficiently absorbent
3/5

I'm not sure if I got a dud, but the mount itself appears to be almost like an air pillow for the microphone, but mine appears to be nearly deflated and works about as well as the grip mount that came with my microphone at absorbing bumps.

Don't hold off on making a purchase
5/5

This shock mount is very effective at eliminating noises and vibrations through the stand; I use it with an SM58 on a table stand, and it eliminates all unwanted noise; it's also very reasonably priced. One minor point: the mic sags a little in the shock mount due to the soft rubber ring. The mic does not sit level in the mount, but this has no effect on sound quality.

It's quite effective
4/5

It was bought to hold a Shure PGA48-based microphone. For HAM radio use, I attached an LC mic to a Samson 48" extension arm, which works great. It hasn't slipped in the months since it was installed, and it gives you access to the on/off switch.
