This mic holder has a new model. I used to love this mic keeper because it had a bungee type cord with a loop on the end to attach to the mic itself. The new model of this mic holder comes with a nylon cord with a cinching device that allows you to adjust the position of your microphone in your truck to almost anywhere you want it. br>I'll admit that the plastic cinching is inconvenient at first, but you get used to it. Aside from that, the Gear Keeper is a fantastic product that far outperforms that obnoxious mic clip. This product's price on Amazon is also lower than any truck stop price. This keeper is used to keep an eye on my massive CB radio. It does an excellent job and has kept the CB from turning into a weapon while off-roading. I use it to keep my CB mic safe and accessible so that I can use it quickly and without tangling it. As a log truck driver, I use it all the time to call off markers as I drive through the woods. It was always a challenge to reach for the microphone while it was dangling from the dash. I don't need to look away from the road anymore.

This was installed in a UTV for use with a GMRS radio that is mounted overhead. A standard mic holder would not be able to hold the mic because of the rough trails. This one is attached to the roll bar, so it stays out of the way until you need it. It allows the mic to be quickly lowered and retracted, making it ideal for use on the road.

It's been at least 6 months since I started using it, and I use it frequently throughout the day. The spring tension has not deteriorated, and it retracts as smoothly as it did the day it was installed.

It's made to be mounted with a screw on vehicles. I didn't want to drill a hole in my new Silverado for a screw.
