Questions & Answers

How far apart are each of the outlets?

There are three outlets. With 2, it measures 75" from center to center. There's 625" between them in terms of clear space.

How well do the provided clips hold the strip in place when mounted vertically (when it's loaded with plugs/blocks/transformers/etc.)?

When installed vertically, it should be able to hold plugs. The drill press, saw table, jig saw table, and other tools are all mounted on the ceiling, and the plugs have never fallen out. Because these are all large work areas and not portable tools, there is no pull on the cord from moving around with a tool.

Dept 56 houses have been gathered and are on display. On one wall, there are 53 books, divided between two shelves. The small transformers are present in each of them. Is it possible to connect them in a daisy chain?

Yes, but it would be even better if all subsequent strips were connected to the first.

Will they plug in side by side in my Christmas Village if some of the cords have power boxes?

Yes, but it is dependent on the size of the power boxes. To put it another way, how much of the power strip's plug outlets would they cover? The outlets are parallel to the strip, which is a plus. Furthermore, the number of power boxes you have will be a factor.

A complete breakdown! Initially, I was very pleased with this power strip; however, after less than two months of use, the strip no longer functioned as a surge protector
3/5

My disabled mother complained of a hot odor, and I was relieved to discover that the plug had melted on both ends and the outlet. I was under the impression that the surge protection would turn off before it reached this point of overheating. br>Until the overheating, the size and ease of installation were fantastic. br>It was a huge letdown.

One end of the camel was cracked
3/5

On one end of my power strip, there was a crack. I had a crucial job that required this, and now I'm stuck with a product that is cracked on one side of the outlet. I'm looking for a new one.

Garbage in its totality - on- After two months, the off switch broke
3/5

This is a shoddy product, and the on-screen text is a complete waste of time. After a month, the off switch was no longer functional. It was most likely toggled 45 times before finally failing. It won't turn on anymore, so I can't use it.

It appears to be durable
3/5

The prong holder almost came loose when I pulled out one of my plugs, so it appears to be sturdy.

Metal box with outlets pulls out
3/5

I liked it at first, but then I noticed that the outlets pull away from the power strip's metal frame. This makes me nervous about the rest of the power strip's safety and design.

A new AC plug was required
3/5

After getting everything up and running, I discovered that the AC plug at the end would not fit into my ground interrupter outlet. A three-prong plug that worked with this one was compared. The only difference between the two was that the AC Plug on the 4 ft outlet strip appeared to be thicker. I tried filing it down, but it didn't work. Now I'm off to the hardware store to replace the existing AC plug with a new three-prong plug. It's for this reason that I only gave it one star.

For my workbench, this is the perfect power strip
4/5

This was exactly what I needed for a strip of outlets for my garage workbench. The included mounting hardware made installation a breeze: br>br> Simply secure the clips to the wall, and the power strip will slide right in. There are a little more than two outlets between each other. 5" between them, which not only keeps your cords from bunching up, but also gives you plenty of room for those oddly-shaped objects. shaped plugs. br>br>The only issue I have with this power strip is that when wall mounted, the power cord comes out the top or bottom of one end (depending on how you mount it) rather than the "tip" of the end (see product photo for example). Obviously, you can mount the strip with the power cord on the left or right, but the power cord will be on the bottom of the unit in the latter case. Because I didn't mount the strip at the base of a wall, this wasn't a big deal for me, but if you do, it's something to think about. br>br>Also, if you unplug something from this unit that is a tight fit, you should hold the power strip with your other hand to avoid pulling the entire unit out of its clamps - This is something I've come close to doing on a number of occasions.

If the shipping/handling had been a little better, this would have been a five-star rating
3/5

It's quite effective. However, it was damaged when it arrived (the mounting tab on the side with the power cord was bent - It would have taken a lot of force to bend that metal, and it would have taken a lot of force to bend it). If the shipping/handling had been a little better, this would have been a five-star rating. As I previously stated, once I took the time to hammer the tab back out so that I could mount it above my bench, it worked perfectly.
