It DOES work with the Delta XC, though. I had put it together incorrectly. According to the information I received when I called Garmin this afternoon, this clip is compatible with all Delta series. Just before the UPS man came to get it, I took it out of the return envelope on my porch!
I've tried it out with a variety of wall plugs and haven't had any problems.
This clip will not work with the Sport Pro dog device; however, here is a link to the correct clip: https: //www. amazon. com/Garmin- com/Garmin- com/Garmin com 010- 11890- PRO- Charging- B00U9OD0CW/ref=sr_1_2? This charger was purchased for my Delta XC collar, but while it is very similar to the original, it is not identical. The contacts are slightly different in position, so they do not touch, and the clips will not clip on.
On my previous dog, I only used this dog collar system a few times - In cars, he was a very loud GSD mix barker, and the training wasn't perfect, but it did get him to stop on occasion. br>br>Now, the current dog was pulled out, charged, and used twice before someone misplaced it in the kitchen, which I couldn't find, so I was glad to find a replacement here, and voila, it's charging right now. This will be used on walks in the woods to prevent him from getting into dangerous situations. I don't use it for training because positive reinforcement is far more effective, but it's ideal for keeping him out of trouble in the woods. It's a gift from God that he has a tool that allows him to listen to the commands to "come here" and "leave it" on hiking/walking trails.
I have a Delta XC and it connects perfectly; at first, I was trying to connect it to the prongs that rest against my dog's neck, but that didn't work out. But once I got it in the right spot, it snapped into place.
If you're buying one, it's very likely that the one that came from the factory is defective. For a while, this will get you back on your feet until it wears out. Both my factory one and now this one g will get you up and running again for a while until it wears out, so Garman needs to figure out how to keep the mini USB connection from becoming loose inside. Garmim will have to figure out how to keep the mini USB connection from coming undone. Both my factory one and this one became loose and had to be carefully positioned in order to charge.
This, in my opinion, should have come standard with the Garmin Delta Sport collar kit I purchased. I'm glad I bought it (though it's not a fact). I'm dealing with a double-edged sword. designed for two dogs I'm very happy to have the Garmin Delta system and this charger accessory because it allows me to charge both collars at the same time, which will help me maintain battery life for both units because they'll be charged for the same amount of time.
The collar, on the other hand, does not stay charged as long as it did with the original piece. In addition, charging the collar takes a little longer.
works exactly as it should.
The fact that it is completely separate from the USB cable is a bad design. As a result, I altered mine so that I would never lose it again. I drilled a small hole in the release tab and tied surveyors string to it, with the other end tied to the USB cord, so it's at least easier to keep track of both pieces now! I even threw in a caribener for good measure. This replacement piece matches my collar perfectly! br>br> I'm hoping I won't have to replace it any time soon!.
