I'm not sure what I'm saying. This was found on Amazon, and the plug appears to be one piece rather than two (excluding the cable). It will work on 220 volts, but the plug on this model is for the United States. only. Model number 010- 11478- The 05 comes with plug adapters for use in the United States. and Europe, but not for the United States.
The power connector is on the Garmin units, so I don't see why this unit won't work with your 2595.
I'm not sure, but Garmin has excellent customer service representatives who can help you, and Amazon would be one of the best sites for value if you decide to buy it.

I bought this kit specifically for the DATA cable; now I need to get a proper USB cable. This kit is compatible with the Drive Smart 61 LMT-II, according to the Amazon advertisement. When you read the BOX, however, it says that it is compatible with SOME Garmin devices. The box does not specify which model of Garmin device it is compatible with; instead, it states whether it is compatible or not. This is deceptive to the consumer, in my opinion. My other complaint is that TRY TO FIND A USB DATA CABLE SPECIFICALLY FOR THE DRIVE SMART 61, IT IS DIFFICULT TO FIND, and now I'm not sure who to trust and not waste my money. As a backup, I can still use the AC adaptor. I'll be leaving town soon, and I don't have time to reorder anything, and I don't have access to my laptop to update my maps. I don't trust motel Wifi, so I won't try to update my maps from the Garmin Update option while on the road using motel Wifi. I rarely have issues with Amazon orders, but this product and its contents WERE NOT TESTED ON A GARMIN DRIVE SMARTY 61 USING THE USB DATA CABLE.
However, when I received the item, it did not have the same type of connector as the original Garmin GPS, so it will not charge. I'd rather give ZERO stars because I would not have ordered the item if I had known it wouldn't be a perfect match for what I needed. This is extremely frustrating, as I will be traveling this weekend and will require my "charged" GPS.
Most of the time, you won't need this adapter for your Garmin GPS, but if you're traveling and want to plan your route for the next day in your hotel room, you'll need it because the Garmin's USB cord won't charge from your laptop. The money was well spent.
My original charger's detachable 110 volt plug was misplaced on our most recent trip. I tried a few other chargers we had on hand, but none of them worked with my Garmin. The Garmin uses a pulse-type charging system that necessitates the use of the proper charger. The replacement unit looked exactly like the one I had before. The fact that the 110 outlet prongs can be removed for easier storage is something I don't like. You should never remove the 110 volt prongs from your transformer unit if you value your charger. It's very easy to lose, and it renders your charger useless.
This recharges the battery in my GARMIN DRIVESMART 51 NA LMT- The one thing I hadn't anticipated - The unit only lasts about 2 hours when charged from the wall. I mistakenly assumed that since this was charged inside, I wouldn't need to use the car cable. I'm still a newbie when it comes to GPS. br>br>As other reviewers have pointed out - I usually plug it into a socket with a counter underneath it because the plug is a hoss and the cord is short. This plug dislikes sharing a socket with other plugs. br>br>I'm still using this charger to get updates from my home wi-fi network. fi, as well as to update my unit with new addresses. It's more convenient to do it inside than in your car.
For the level of quality, it is far too expensive. The plug can be used with a variety of international power supplies, but they only provide the USA adaptor. The attachment snaps into place, but it is loose rather than tight. The quality of the product is poor. It does the job, allowing me to plan trips and "saved places" from the warmth of my home. Aftermarket charger cords will not work with the Garmin GPS because it only comes with a 12v charge cord. That's been taken care of by Garmin.
This charger keeps my two Garmin watches charged while I'm at home. Because the new Garmin I bought doesn't hold a charge as well as my older one, I can charge it fully indoors before leaving and then use the car charger while driving.
The item was delivered on time and in good working order. If one of the two cables fails to work, try the other. I tried one and it wouldn't fit the gpsbr>I was about to return it because I assumed the other cable would be the same size, but I called Garmin and they advised me to try the other cable, which I did and it worked. But, like other reviewers, I believe the GPS should have come with the charger. I'm glad I can now charge it without having to use the computer.
