Everything is in good working order

This antenna was purchased to replace the one that fed my Leo Bodnar GPSDO, which is a required accessory for an ICOM IC-2000. If you use the 9700 in any digital mode, such as WSJT-D, you'll get a lot of mileage out of it. The IC-Drift would be much worse if the GPSDO wasn't present. 9700 is unacceptably low, and many decoder failures will occur, particularly among the weaker ones. (One would think that a transceiver with so many features would include a TCXO as a standard complement. ) )br>br>I could have cut the coax and installed a new SMA Male on the shortened coax because I have the connectors and the correct crimping tool, but I decided to buy a replacement antenna assembly. The new antenna's 90-degree connector was perfect for my needs. Is this a better antenna than the one I just swapped out? That is something on which I am unable to comment. All I know is that after powering up the GPSDO with the new antenna attached, the lock light went solid in less than 10 seconds. Later that day, I confirmed its operation by working a number of Russian and Ukrainian stations on 144 MHz EME (Moonbounce) with Q65-A. 60A mode.

I have a similar antenna from a different manufacturer that is more expensive but does not pick up as many satellites on the same receiver as this one.

This antenna was never intended to be used in a vehicle. This is being used in conjunction with a network device that includes a GPS interface. Everything is in order.
