If you look at the pictures in the description, you'll notice that the heading symbol is on the opposite side of the connector. A "tick" mark indicating heading can be found on the antenna side. The connections are determined by the program. In my case, I'm using it in conjunction with an APM 2. There are eight flight control modules in total, each with two connections. one for gps input and another for compass input
No, all you have to do is connect TX, RX, GND, and 5V, and it will begin transmitting messages automatically. "sda scl no connection required," according to one of the pictures on the listing page.
I haven't bought one yet, but if it shares the same GPIO as its siblings (Pi4, Pi3, and 0), then yes. TX and RX are needed for the GPS to work. SDA and SCL are both required for the compass.

The compass/accelerometer uses two I2C lines, while the GPS uses Rx, Tx serial lines. It's now integrated into the navigation system on my ServoCity Mantis 6WD rover. I can leave it unattended at my neighbors' house and return the same way using GPS waypoints. It makes use of a 24L01 transceiver module as well as an ESP32-based microcontroller. With its own WiFi, CAM is a great place to visit. It also has a MicroSD card reader that accepts a 128GB SD card, allowing me to record a series of waypoints and have it repeat the journey. Sending it on a journey around the house and having it appear a few minutes later coming around the other corner and stopping where it started is a lot of fun. Amazon is where I get all of my modules and parts.
It can take up to 5 minutes to get the 8 satellites the first time you use it, or if you're flying somewhere you've never been before, but it only takes a few seconds the next time you charge it. I wanted to improve my speed with this, but it'll also come in handy if I ever lose a quad. The return to home is something I haven't attempted yet. I doubt I'll be able to figure it out because it appears that even the most experienced pilots have had trouble getting that feature to work properly. I hope I never have to find out, but if I do and it doesn't work, I'll know where to look. For several hundred dollars' worth of equipment, $20 is a very inexpensive insurance policy. You'll be glad you spent the $20 on this if you crash and lose a $400 quad with a $400 GoPro on it. br>br>When you first plug it in, the numbers 0 Satellites and 0 will flash. Your GPS coordinates should be 000000. It will start giving GPS coordinates after a minute or two, but the number of satellites will still be flashing. If you arm and fly at this point, a message will appear stating that there is no RTH function. It will begin to list satellites after 5 minutes. You're good to go once you've got eight.

Pros: br>Extremely accurate and dependable GPS tracking. br>Many modes available, from Galileo to Asianbr>Built in Compass (no testing)br>br>Cons: br>Has a long hot start (rather than just a cold start)br>Isn't great indoors.
This item isn't functional. Even when manually configured. This is not a good place to buy from. There is no GPS fix, no satellite retrieval, and it even caused my computer to go insane while plugged in. br>Accuracy = 0br>Sheerness = 0br>Thickness =? Whatever. It's meant to work, but it doesn't.
For smaller quads, it's probably a little thick, but it'll suffice for fixed-wing applications.
br>The setup was the only difficulty I had, and once you use u-bolt you'll be fine. It works like a charm if you go to the center and get everything set up the way you want it.
It works perfectly, and it arrived quickly.
