I would recommend getting a Furuno antenna because I had to replace mine with a Furuno model because my Furuno 1850 was only getting sporadic fixes with this generic unit.
It works perfectly with the Garmin. I'd recommend trying it if your device has a standard antenna jack.
This is a new one for me. If the 650 has an input for this antenna, there's a good chance you'll be happy with it.
It is designed as a GPS antenae, so I don't think it will work on a VHF radio.

After about 5 years, the GPS antennae that came with my Digital Yacht AIS 2000 started acting strangely and eventually stopped working. The OEM replacement cost $120 plus $17 shipping, according to my research. For $22 shipped, I figured it was worth a shot to see if this universal antennae would work with my AIS 2000. In the end, yes, it works, and for only a few dollars more than the OEM antennae's shipping. I'll be buying a spare to keep aboard, given the short life of the original OEM antennae and the low cost of this replacement. $22 vs $137, it's a no-brainer.
The GPS may take a few minutes to adjust to the improved signal. At a third of the cost of a Garmin unit, this antennae increased signal strength to Max. Connecting a TV Antennae is as simple as that.
With this antenna, I was unable to receive any signal.
THE PRODUCT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL.
It seems like it'll be a good thing.
I returned it because I didn't need it any longer.
Great price / 50% of the units ordered were defective. The product was cheap and at this point appears% I bought two, one for each of my GPS devices. One had to be returned because it had a broken Coaxial connector.
It performs as expected.
